Talking to the press at the UK premiere of The Fabelmans, Steven Spielberg said he’s preparing a documentary on his longtime friend and collaborator John Williams.

Asked by a reporter if he would be interested in making a movie about John Williams, the director replied “We’re actually working on a documentary on John Williams’ life, so that's gonna be in the documentary form.”

STEVEN SPIELBERG AND JOHN WILLIAMS CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF COLLABORATION AT AMERICAN CINEMATHEQUE TRIBUTE EVENT

On January 12, legendary director/composer duo of Steven Spielberg and John Williams will make a rare joint appearance in a special tribute event hosted by the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles.

The event, called “Spielberg/Williams - 50 Years of Music and Movies”, will take place on Jan 12 at the Writers’ Guild Theater in Beverly Hills and will include clips and a public talk with director and composer.

The duo has recently collaborated on their latest film together, The Fabelmans, who recently got nominations at the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards for both Williams and Spielberg.
