First of all, sincere gratitude to the very lovely and beloved Lady Irina Miro and all the fairy girls on this unforgettable evening with gratitude for the opportunity to be involved in the holiday surrounded by charming girls. Everything was very nice, the beauty of the girls and the spiritual joyful state surrounded us all on this beautiful cozy evening.
Another important tradition for the holiday of Ivan Kupala was considered to be the collection of field herbs. Girls and Lady went to the field, collected herbs Ivan tea, St. John's wort, wormwood, chamomile and others
plants.
Ivan Kupala is an echo of the most ancient pagan holiday of the summer solstice, which praises flowering and fertility.
The meanings of the concept of Kupala are associated with fire, a symbol of the hot summer sun, and water, moisture, giving life. Fire and water remain the main attributes of Ivan Kupala's holiday to this day.
People believed: whoever washes himself with dew that night will get prettier and healthier all next year. In some regions night swimming was arranged, in others they were afraid to go into the rivers, because on this night the birthday boy was water. They lit high bonfires, through which they jumped to clear themselves of the Kupala fire.
The girls put wreaths on the water and watched whose wreath was sinking and whose wreath was floating. For example, in our village-farm, the estate of the grandfather of the composer Kalachevsky, a far-flung wreath meant a quick marriage, in others - a long life. W
