Photography and Videography Sam Laucke

Sounding slightly cliché , but ever since my Mother gave me a “Box Kodak” camera to take on a school excursion at the age of 8, I have been hooked on photography. My mother was our family photographer, and her ability to be able to trap those special moments in time, that we still enjoy today, impressed on me the importance of taking the time to take photos and its connection to be the “story tell

er” through this medium. I then remember seeing a black and white picture from famous French photographer and painter Jacques Henri Lartigue, (1894 – 1986) and his ability to be able to capture such depth and emotion in a simple frame left me with the inspiration to see photography not simply as a being able to record family history, but also to be able to use photography as a real art form. I love all aspects of photography, portraits, landscapes as well as commercial and love videography as another form of communication through its endless format
