DJ Maggie carefully curates the best of downtempo electronic into lush, playful and deeply replenishing sets that invite listeners on shimmering audio odysseys. Whether leading flights to the depth of the heart or the outer dimensions of the cosmos, Maggie pilots music masterfully

as a multi-dimensional tool—for joy enhancement, energy boosting, community building, a safe space for retreat, a salve for helping heal pain, or a focus-enhancing medium to optimize creativity or productivity. This eventually propelled her into the path of her current collaborations with esteemed downtempo artist and producer, Bluetech, on his label Behind the Sky and her label Over the Moon. Her first compilation, a 2xLP entitled ‘Matters of the Heart,’ was released in June 2021 on Behind the Sky, and in October 2021 saw the debut of the first release on Over the Moon, a digital album by Keerd called “Lost in a Daydream”. Since then, the label has released music from Encounters, Bluetech, Kaya Project, Wolf Tech, Erothyme, and more.

2023 marked DJ Maggie's European debut, captivating crowds at Ozora (Hungary) and Suti (Portugal). She also began a bimonthly residency on RadiOzora, Ozora's online station, for Over the Moon. A champion of downtempo's rich soundscapes, Maggie remains dedicated to exploring and promoting the genre's immersive, soulful rhythms. Her journey intertwines with her audience's, creating shared experiences that resonate deeply and uplift spirits.

Shout out to a particular (mystery) coffee shop in Tbilisi, Georgia! A fan recently shared with me that they first heard one of my mixes when they were traveling through Georgia, stopped in a coffee shop, and the shop was playing my mix "Bubble Bath". Glad to know folks in Tbilisi are enjoying the music! 💜

New wiggly mix from none other than Bluetech himself, airing tomorrow/Monday on Radiozora!

It's time for another episode of our bimonthly program on Radiozora! Our fifth episode features OTM allstar Bluetech with a wiggly mix of organic, mutant house and downtempo. The mix is called "26 Bones Mix" and this is what Bluetech has to say about it:

"The concept behind this mix was to explore downtempo, deep house and balearic mutant house vibes. In my sets I aim to keep it dreamy yet still danceable, not afraid to get a little sultry and steamy as the story evolves. The mix evolves from bright and cheery to deep and tribal over 26 tracks. In a human foot, there are 26 bones, the structural support of a proper wiggle."

Catch this set live at the following dates and times, or stay tuned as this mix will be posted to Radiozora's Soundcloud page soon after:

#1 airing: Sunday July 21 2pm CEST/5am PDT/8am EDT
#2 airing: Sunday July 21 10pm CEST/1pm PDT/4pm EDT

A few years back, Evan Bluetech introduced me to the world of analogue modular synth music, and one of the most wonderful discoveries I made in this realm was DiN Records, headed up by Ian Boddy. I've had the pleasure of exploring the back catalogue, finding some real gems. Today, I had a listen through this gorgeous 25th anniversary compilation, chock full of notable names from the synth culture.

This release is so varied, but ties together so wonderfully under the curator's touch from Ian. It's been a fantastic soundtrack today while I work on some creative projects. You can find the digital version and a beautiful CD at the link below. Such good music!

The single features remixes by EMOG, Datashell, and Polygon Rainbow, each a visionary artist in their own right, infusing Bluetech's celestial soundscape with their unique musical perspectives.

New mix to share! This is a live recording of my recent opening set to celebrate Treavor Moontribe's 50th birthday in Hollywood. I call it "Mint Condition".

It starts off slow and sultry, moves through some classic downtempo, and finishes with some proper wiggly slow house (that last bit was a special request from the birthday boy, who played a 4 hour set after mine). Link in comments.

The artwork was created by me and started off as a wrought iron staircase railing I saw in a fancy hotel in Budapest last summer, warped into symmetry as I like to do.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of playing an opening set for Desert Dwellers at a sweet venue in San Diego called the Quartyard. It was a relatively short party - just 6 hours - and featured all Moontribe DJs on the lineup. Consquently, the crowd was chock full of familiar, smiling faces, ensuring good vibes throughout the afternoon and evening. Coupled with excellent sound provided by Bomb Shelta Sound, it was a remarkable experience for all.

Huge gratitude to all the friends and followers who showed up early to catch my set! The dancefloor was poppin', a real treat for an opening set. Many folks who couldn't make it in time, or only caught part of my set, asked if I would be posting it anywhere - and so I'm thrilled to share with you the live recording of that set, which I have titled "HullabaLuna". Link below. Here's the tracklist:

EMOG - Peaceful Pathways
Shaman's Dream, Geometrae Feat Evan Fraiser - Hinimawé
Kercha & Mindex - Unity
Deep-Dive-Corp. - Blue Morning

I just finished another practice session with my playlist for Sunday's opening set at Desert Dwellers Live at Quartyard San Diego!

I haven't been fully as focused on music lately as I usually am, due to part-time caregiving my Dad (who has cancer), but I felt really inspired for this set. Opening vibes are a special kind of invitation, and I love to navigate those realms. It helps lift my spirits in many ways

Another remarkable journey into the dub world of Misled Convoy, this time in long form. It's a 51 minute trip, varied from place to place but tied together just the same. I used this as a soundtrack for creative work and loved where it took me. Good stuff here.

Excited to release the first volume of a new series of sound works. Whilst the Translations series feature my remixes of other artists, Black Mountain Transmissions will be long-form tracks focusing on a consistent key and BPM. Most will be hybrids of live shows, taking the energy that environment delivers with further manipulation in the studio to create the final version. Enjoy the journey. ...

Max Cooper makes some tremendously good music. I'm listening to Seme right now (Feb release) and it's everything.

There are going to be some performances with this concept coming up in Salzburg, Austria (this Thursday, March 28) and 2 nights in London (April 4-5). The whole concept, from the London venue:

"Returning to the Barbican for the first time since 2019’s Yearning for the Infinite, Cooper’s new project Seme (or “Seed”) was developed originally for its world premiere at the Saltzburg Easter Festival directed by Sir Antonio Pappano, based around the passion and spirit of Italy. Working to this theme, Seme takes inspiration from, and centres around, an exploration of rich Italian foundational aesthetics. Combining historical Italian musical and visual elements with their counterparts from the history of science, philosophy and art, Cooper’s Seme mines Italy’s rich cultural past to create a meditation on the form which yields us, and the world we live in."

This is one of those times I wish we had teleporting technology. I wish I could be there. Friends near London or Salzburg - heads up.

Things are looking UP! Not only am I pleased to share the next episode of Over the Moon Music's bimonthly show on Radiozora, expertly crafted by one of my personal playlist faves Erothyme, but this set he crafted for us is a showcase for his new release, Life Sidereal, out NOW on Bandcamp.

I listened to this mix the other day and I've got to say, it's a beauty of a mix. No one does mashups of his own tunes quite like Erothyme. Plus, he managed to include more than half of my favorite chilled tunes of his from all time, along with every single track from Life Sidereal. This is how you do it!

Peep below for set times on the Chill Channel of Radiozora. And please consider supporting the artist by purchasing the tunes on Bandcamp. Quality stuff right here!

I am so stoked about this release. When Bluetech commissioned Erothyme to craft an album using some of his modular synth gear for release on Behind The Sky, my ears perked up. Then, Erothyme outdid himself and created this epic space travel journey, traversing the peaks and valleys of storytelling electronica at its finest. This is a masterpiece of an album and well worth a listen.

At long last, Life Sidereal has achieved liftoff.
Numerous stars were gazed upon during the production of this album.
Only a few were visited.

New Music Alert!

In "Monument to the Conquerors," the latest chapter of Bluetech's "Spacehop Chronicles 2," we present not only Bluetech's original cosmic composition but also remixes by beatfarmer and Stillhead. This release crafts a rich sonic narrative around Laika the cosmonaut's adventures, where the original track's celestial journey is reimagined through the unique lenses of beatfarmer's organic rhythms and Stillhead's dub-infused depths. Together, these pieces create a collaborative exploration of sound and space, inviting listeners to experience the story's continuity and evolution.

Bluetech's artwork frames Laika as a figure of awe and ambition, set against an alien landscape punctuated by grand monuments. These structures stand as symbols of achievement and the future, aligning the music's themes with the grandeur of space and the spirit of discovery. Together, the visual and auditory elements create a space for inspiration and connection, inviting listeners to engage with our shared drive to explore and transcend.

"Monument to the Conquerors" extends an invitation to dive into a universe where music and narrative converge. This release not only progresses Laika's story but also celebrates the community's spirit, weaving together the threads of passion, optimism, and authenticity. Join us in this compact yet profound exploration, where every note is a step towards understanding our place in the universe and each other.

Do you like deep, playful dubby tunes? I know I do! One of the remix artists for Bluetech's new single (dropping next week on March 8), Stillhead, has a new single out today and it's a treat!

Stillhead's own description for his music is that it "mixes many genres and sits stylistically between dub, drum & bass, ambient, dub-techno, downtempo, post dubstep, deep techno and bass music. " His tunes first caught my ear during the early days of the pandemic when so many of us were spending lots of time online immersed in music. I tapped him to contribute a tune to "Matters of the Heart", a compilation I curated for Behind The Sky, and later on this year we'll hear a full album of tunes from him on Over the Moon Music. I guess you could say I'm a fan!

Check out this track at the links below, and stay tuned for more info on the remix dropping next week!

It brings me distinct joy to share that the next release on Over the Moon Music will be another stellar single from Bluetech, along with a couple of remixes from some of my favorite artists, beatfarmer and Stillhead. March 8, just a week away! Stay tuned!
