Some of you may know that I have been in the hospital since last Saturday. I was released at 6:14pm last night. Am glad to be home. They removed 1100cc of fluid from around the heart on Monday and about the same amount from left lung on Tuesday. They ran tests on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. All test came back negative so they released me. I am feeling good, but I never really felt bad after a couple of days two weeks ago. Thanks you all for your prayers and good wishes. Ron

Morgan Stanley's explosive call on interest rates if Trump wins

Story by Dan Weil

After Joe Biden’s disastrous performance in last week’s presidential debate, the likelihood of a victory for Donald Trump seems to have increased markedly.

If Trump does emerge victorious, one major question for the economy and your finances is: What will happen to interest rates?

Biden Must Bow Out

Joe Biden Is a Good Man and a Good President. He Must Bow Out of the Race.

By Thomas L. Friedman
Opinion Columnist, reporting from Lisbon

I watched the Biden-Trump debate alone in a Lisbon hotel room, and it made me weep. I cannot remember a more heartbreaking moment in American presidential campaign politics in my lifetime, precisely because of what it revealed: Joe Biden, a good man and a good president, has no business running for re-election. And Donald Trump, a malicious man and a petty president, has learned nothing and forgotten nothing. He is the same fire hose of lies he always was, obsessed with his grievances — nowhere close to what it will take for America to lead in the 21st century.

The Biden family and political team must gather quickly and have the hardest of conversations with the president, a conversation of love and clarity and resolve. To give America the greatest shot possible of deterring the Trump threat in November, the president has to come forward and declare that he will not be running for re-election and is releasing all of his delegates for the Democratic National Convention.

The Republican Party, if its leaders had an ounce of integrity, would demand the same, but it won’t, because they don’t. That makes it all the more important that Democrats put the country’s interests first and announce that a public process will begin for different Democratic candidates to compete for the nomination — town halls, debates, meetings with donors, you name it. Yes, it could be chaotic and messy when the Democratic convention starts on Aug. 19 in Chicago, but I think the Trump threat is sufficiently grave that delegates could quickly rally around and nominate a consensus candidate.

If Vice President Kamala Harris wants to compete, she should. But voters deserve an open process in search of a Democratic presidential nominee who can unite not only the party but also the country, by offering something neither man on that Atlanta stage did on Thursday night: a compelling description of where the world is right now and a compelling vision for what America can and must do to keep leading it — morally, economically and diplomatically.

The Collapse of the U.S. Home Insurance System?

For the past five years I have questioned how the current home insurance market could continue to pay the mounting claims resulting from increasing sever storms and fires resulting from climate change. For all those of you climate change deniers, don't waste your time listening to this podcast. You won't believe this until you get a letter from the insurance company cancelling the insurance on your home..

For those of you that think this is just a Florida California problem and it cold never happen in Marshall Texas – you might want to listen to the story about Marshalltown Iowa.

So here to a link to this eye-opening podcast. Listen or put your earplugs i.

The Daily: The possible Collapse of the U.S. Home Insurance System

Across the United States, more frequent extreme weather is starting to cause the home insurance market to buckle, even for those who have paid their premiums dutifully year after year.

Christopher Flavelle, a climate reporter, discusses a Times investigation into one of the most consequential effects of the changes.

Yesterday there was a post on facebook that said Dale Watson had refused the share the stage for the Boogie Woogie Marshall fund raises in April. I post a comment to the post. Since I never know what people see on facebook, I am reposteing my comment in hopes more is my friends will see it ---

Wow! I can only think of a few reasons why Dale Watson was not willing to share the stage with two other talented performers. First, the stage is very small, Second, Mr. Watson has gained a lot of weight and his size requires him to have a stage for only his large body. Third, he is so insecure and ego-driven that he has the be only performer. My bet is on number three.

In my opinion, Mr. Watson has never been a supporter of Woogie Boogie Marshall. In my opinion, Mr. Watson is one of those people whose only purpose in life to to promote himself. I am sorry to see him go but he just does not appear to be a fit. The true supporters of Boogie Woogie Marshall need prove to Mr. Watson that he is not needed to make Boogie Woogie Marshall a success or for him to be in Marshall for that matter. You can join the movement - the stage is big enough for everyone.

Opinion: Roosevelt fixed his serious VP mistake. Will Biden?

Editor’s note:
If you are looking at economic data indicators, all indicators show that the country is doing very well. If you look at Biden’s favorability numbers they are in the tank. The Biden marketing machine is a complete failure. The current VP is ineffective and of no assistance.

I personally think that Biden will be defeated by Trump in November. One of the things he must do is select a new VP running mate. Roosevelt did it.

By George F. Will

Today’s subject is potentially the most consequential mistake of Joe Biden’s irresponsibly prolonged public life. She, the mistake, will not, however, be mentioned again:

In 1940, President Franklin D. Roosevelt replaced his vice president, Texan John Nance Garner, with his agriculture secretary, Iowan Henry Wallace. If FDR, who died April 12, 1945, had died a year earlier, the postwar era would have been even more dangerous than it was and we might live in an even worse world.

Democrats Should Open Their Eyes Before It's Too Late

Democrats Have A Better Option Than Biden
-from a podcast by Ezra Klein.

I have never been a Democrat. I spent 40 years as a Republican but became an Independent when George W. Bush invaded Iraq.

I have voted for some Democrats but I have never considered becoming a Democrat for many reasons. One is they make bad choices. Running Joe Biden for a second term is one of those decisions and there is a high probability that this will return Donald Trump to the presidency and change the direction of the country and its democratic form of government.

Today I heard a podcast that every Democrat and Independent should listen to before it's too late for Joe Biden and the Democrats to do the right thing.
