Good Morning My Beloved Brethren,
Date : Thursday, September 15, 2022
Topic : COMPLETE YOUR DAYS ON EARTH IN GOODNESS
Read: 2 Timothy 4:5-8

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7)

Life is a battle; it is a journey of oppositions and confrontations.

You are destined in life to complete well and in victory, but it’s not automatic.

You need to still fight with the right mentality, have faith in God, pray to Him for help and use a godly strategy to win and end well.

Many people started life badly, however, they ended well and many started well but ended badly.

You may have started the year badly, and still wondering how it’s going to end, wonder no more – God will pull you through and make it end well for you.

God will pull you out from defeat to give you an overwhelming victory.

The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favour to them of skill, but time and chance happeneth to them all (Ecclesiastes 9:11).

This is your time and season to be victorious; claim it!
You must start by rendering love to God and your fellow men.

According to Matthew 5:44, you must live a life of love towards your enemies, blessing those that curse you, doing good to those that hate you and praying for those which despitefully use you and persecute you.

Isaac had a good start, he prospered, went forward and completed his days on earth well, doing good (Genesis 26:12-14; 35:28-29).

As you crown your days on earth with goodness and excellence, God will also crown all your efforts with long life and eternal happiness.

Prayer:
Eternal Father, enable me to complete my days on earth with goodness and excellence.

Help me to live a life of love, mercy and kindness to all men; I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Good Morning My Beloved Brethren,
Date :Wednesday, September 14, 2022
Topic : LORD, PERFECT US IN HOLINESS
Read: 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 7:1

"… dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God" (2 Corinthians 7:1)

We are living in the end-times and the promise of Christ to rapture those who pursue holiness can get fulfilled at any time, as all the signs, hints, and clues are with us.

The question we should ask ourselves today is: are we walking in the highway of holiness? Are we ready to be raptured by Christ when He comes? Or have we lost direction and ignorantly diverted to another way?

Dear brethren in Christ, the standards of God do not change in any way; they remain the same from generation to generation.

Technology cannot change who God is nor will our so-called civilization make Him to accommodate what He abhorred from the very foundations of the earth.

His standard remains absolute holiness and righteousness.

The saints who lived before us made it because they maintained holiness.

If they entered Heaven by walking the path of holiness, that should remind us that we are no different and that God requires the same from us.

We who are called by His name, His ransomed ones through the blood of Jesus, need to be perfect because that is God’s nature – “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your father which is in Heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48).

Let us dwell and keep walking in the highway of holiness by repenting of our sins, living in total obedience to God’s precepts, and allowing the fullness of the Holy Spirit to bring about perfection and holiness in us as we prepare to meet our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, let the Holy Spirit reign in every single moment of our lives.

Help us to live in obedience, purity, holiness, integrity and uprightness of heart; we pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good morning Beloved brethren,

Topic: COME TO GOD IN FAITH
Read: Hebrews 4:14-16

"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:166).

When many people face challenges in their lives, they give several excuses for not praying. Some claim they were
too busy trying to resolve the matter that they forgot to pray. Some say they felt capable of solving the matter on their own and so didn't want to bother God with it. Some say they saw their matter as too small or their fault, hence God will not listen to their prayers. And when solme eventually
pray, they do so more out of obligation than with faith that God will answer them.

God hears all our prayers. However, He sees the heart and motive behind every prayer and decides which ones He answers, when He answers and how He answers for our eventual good. What we must note is that God is quick to attend to the prayers of His obedient children who diligently seek Him with all their hearts and who present their prayers to Him with strong faith, believing that He not only hears them, but can and will grant what they have asked for.

Christ Jesus told His disciples that if they had faith as small as a mustard seed, they would move mountains. A small measure of faith can have an amazing impact in our lives. As we begin to pray with faith, we will also begin to witness God do the impossible in our lives. We should note that God answers our prayers in diverse ways. It may not always be the way we imagined, but His best is always at Work.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, give me confidence to come before You in prayer. Enable me to trust in You and rely on You for answer requests. This I pray, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Topic: THERE IS POWER BEHIND OUR WORDS
Text: Read: John 1:1-3
Daily Bible Study: Ezekiel 45-46; Mark 11-12

"And God said, Let there be light: and there was light" (Genesis 1:3).

God the Almighty One created all things by the spoken Word. With that same Word He created us, but not just as any other of His creations, He created us specially – in His own image and likeness. So we are exactly like God. We only put on this flesh while here on earth as it is required for us to be able to live here physically. The real man in this house (the flesh) is a spirit being. The same way God’s Word has power, so also our words have power. We can speak things into existence and take charge of situations by the words we utter from our mouths. All we need is faith.

So we may ask, how come we all cannot speak and brings things to pass like God? The answer is simple – sin! We lost that authority and power of the spoken word to sin. Our sins rendered our words impotent and we became degraded spiritually and physically. But the good news is that Christ has restored us to an even greater glory and estate and has given us authority and power. In Christ, we have potency of the word and can speak forth with authority and power.

We should very well mind our words as we can either create or destroy with them. Many people do not realise the power in their words, so they speak carelessly and untamed, thus bringing problems to themselves and others. Try to be conscious of the power behind your words and be very careful about your words as they are being recorded and powers act on them either for good or for evil.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please renew the thoughts of my heart to be in line with Your words and let my words be guided by the Holy Spirit, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Good morning Beloved Brethren,

Topic: STAY CONNECTED
Text: Read: John 15:1-12
Daily Bible Study: Ezekiel 35-36; Mark 1-2

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit…" (John 15:5).

We currently live in the era of high-tech gadgets. From smart phones, to smart TVs and vehicles that do all we want at just the touch of buttons; all well connected to the internet. Without a secure connection, most of these gadgets will not function properly, some may not even work. In societies where people are used to having constant electricity, flowing water and steady internet connection, there would be great panic if all these amenities sudden stopped working, even just for a day!

Some people cannot imagine living a day without network connection in their phones; they would literally freak out and be unsettled the whole day. But how many people freak out and become unsettled in a day when they are not connected to God? How many worry that they go for days, weeks, months and even years without any form of communication or connection with God? It is until they hit a brick wall and find out all the money in the world cannot solve their problem that they remember God exists and then try desperately to connect with Him, just to have immediate solutions to their problems and disappear again.

Endeavour to have a permanent connection with God by spending time in His word and in prayer. Live your life serving, praising, and worshipping God. When you are always connected to God you will not also be connected to sin, failures and every other negativity in life. God’s connection clears them all out. You will of course encounter them, but will certainly overcome them. So stay connected to God always and your life will be always charged by His grace.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, enable me to stay permanently connected to You at all times. Let not the distractions on earth pull me away from You, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Topic: THE BELIEVER’S RACE
Text: Read: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Daily Bible Study: Ezekiel 31-32; Matthew 25-26

"…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doeth so easily be set us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us" (Hebrews 12:1).

Our Christian life is likened to a race. We need to run with steadfast endurance. It is not a sprint to the finish, but more like a marathon. Along the way we should inspire each other and encourage others not to give up; we all need to keep pressing on and going forward till we reach the end.

To enable us achieve this, we need to get rid of anything that will weigh us down or wear us out. No athlete wears uncomfortable or heavy clothing and weights while competing in a race. Likewise, in the spiritual we also need to be dressed appropriately for the race, and throw off the things that would hold us back and weigh us down, so that we may be able to finish the race successfully. Every form of sin should be discarded and replaced with the fruits of the Spirit which are our refreshment, nourishment and strength provider while on our race.

The Christian life was never promised to be the easy way to live. In our Bible text today, Apostle Paul constantly reminds us that running the Christian race requires purpose, plan, discipline and absolute obedience to God. He uses this as an illustration to explain that the Christian life requires hard work, self-denial and sacrifice. The essential disciplines of prayer, Bible study, and worship equip us to run with vigour and stamina to say no to situations that will lead us away from Christ. Let us press forward with a steady pace and get our heavenly rewards.

Prayer: Great Jehovah, please have mercy on my inadequacies and grant me Your grace to give up what I want for what You want as I run this Christian race, I pray in Christ’s name, Amen.

Topic: THE IRREPARABLE LOSS
Text: Read: Matthew 12:36-37
Daily Bible Study: Ezekiel 29-30; Matthew 23-24

"Thou shall not go up and down as a tale bearer among thy people..." (Leviticus 19:16).

Many people are fond of gossiping, backbiting and telling fabricated stories about others. They are good at spreading rumours and always like to be the source of information, not minding if what they are saying is true or not and not caring about the possible damage they are causing to the people against whom they speak.

The wounds caused on many due to gossips and backbiting has made them live in sorrow all the rest of their lives. Many marriages have been broken, relationships severed, business partnerships cancelled and many friendships destroyed simply due to gossips and backbiting. If only we know the damage that our gossips cause, we would not engage in such again. The loss and damages from gossiping and such other acts is irreparable. You may later be forgiven, but those words you uttered will never be forgotten, especially if they were false accusations. Nothing hurts more than seeing people spread false news about you, especially those you never even had personal interactions with.

Let us stop every act of gossips, backbiting, slandering and evil talks. The souls we have driven away from the fold of Christ due to such activities will be required at our hands on the day of Judgement. Do all you can to apologise and make amends for your gossips and rumormongering against people and try to repent completely from such activities. Caution your words and speak only when you have to, and make sure it’s the truth. Let not your words bring grief and pain to the lives of your fellow men.

Prayer: Merciful Father, please forgive and deliver me from all the wrong impressions made in gossiping and backbiting against others, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Good morning Beloved Brethren,

Topic: EMBRACE GOD’S FORGIVENESS
Text: Read: Psalm 130
Daily Bible Study: Ezekiel 27-28; Matthew 21-22

"If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?" (Psalm 130:3)

Many people world over go through life carrying loads of guilt, even amongst those who identify as Christians. They feel there is no hope because of some things they have done and thus live the rest of their lives in great guilt and sorrows. The worst part of this is that some even take their own lives out of depression. A certain man told his family and friends that he was sure that when he dies, God would not accept him. He was weighed down with guilt because the things he had done, he said so much had gone wrong in his life to have it fixed and wasn’t sure that God would forgive him. This is wrong!

We don’t have to carry the weight of our sins around and we don’t even have to get rid of our sins by ourselves, God has already done it for us through the great and sacrificial death of Christ Jesus on the cross. We are set free from the guilt and bo***ge of our sins, if we only believe. We need to come to God confessing and forsaking our sins and in keeping to His word, he will not cast us out (John 6:37). You cannot embrace what you don’t like, this is why we cannot understand and accept God’s forgiveness, if we ourselves cannot forgive others.

If God were to follow us up according to our sins and punish us accordingly, none of us would be alive by now. So why decide to follow people up with revenge for what they did to you? You need to forgive them completely, so you can also be able to embrace God’s mercies and forgiveness.

Prayer: Thank You LORD for not punishing me according to all my sins. Help me to confess and forsake them. Also help me to completely forgive others, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Topic: RECEIVING GREAT THINGS FROM GOD
Text: Read: Jeremiah 33:3
Daily Bible Study: Ezekiel 25-26; Matthew 19-20

"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not" (Jeremiah 33:3).

Everyone likes to have access to someone with great power and authority; we like to associate with people that are influential and well respected in every sphere of life. Even in some homes with many children, we will see that some children are closer to the parents than others and there is always that extra special child that makes others envious or jealous due to the preferential treatment given to that child. In God’s great Household, we are all loved and favoured, but certainly, some people are closer to God than others.

When you spend more time with some in genuine friendship, you will eventually be closer to such a person, win his/her love and also get preferential treatment from such a person. Those who dedicate their lives fully unto God and serve Him with all their heart and are willing to go the extra mile to do what He instructs them to do will definitely be extra favoured and blessed by Him. Their prayers will not be long and their needs will be always met, even before they ask for it. They will ask for great things and God will give them even greater than what they asked.

Do you want to get great things from God? Then go closer to Him, learn of Him, walk with Him, love Him in absolute obedience, submit to His will, and spend time praising Him. You will get to be His friend and He will call you by name. There is nothing that you will ask that He will not give to You, even before you ask.

Prayer: My Father and my God, keep me steadfast in You, that I may learn of You, walk with You, and always be in fellowship with You, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Topic: LOVING SINNERS
Text: Read: 1 Timothy 1:12-17
Daily Bible Study: Ezekiel 23-24; Matthew 17-18

"But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them …were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd" (Matthew 9:36).

A Pastor once said that the gathering together of believers was actually a fellowship of reconciled and forgiven sinners who don’t simply preach but live out their faith in Christ Jesus. They also offer to others the same reconciliation and forgiveness they have received from God when they go out for evangelism. Apostle Paul expressed the same conviction to Timothy when he said: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief” (v. 15).

Once a persecutor of Christians, Paul believed that God’s mercy was shown to him, the worst of sinners, as an example to other sinners who would latter believe on Christ (v.16). Whenever we testify that God has forgiven us and provided eternal life through faith in Christ, we are declaring that God is merciful. Yet, as humans, when we observe sinful and destructive lifestyles among people, we tend to write them off. Rather than do this, we ought to look at them as Christ does, “When he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted and were scattered like sheep without shepherd” (Matthew 9:36).

Jesus said He came not to condemn the world but to save it (John 3:17). Rather than condemning people, we should patiently help them to know Christ as we were also patiently handled when being led to Christ. You cannot win over souls if you reach out to them with condemnation. You cannot soften stony hearts with harsh words. When fully persuaded to accept Christ, the one stonehearted sinner will melt in repentance and genuine remorse, and you would have saved a soul!

Prayer: Dear LORD, please help me to care for others and to lovingly and patiently share Your word with others, I pray in Jesus Christ’s name – Amen.

Good morning Beloved Brethren,
Date: Saturday, October 2, 2021
Topic: MAKE A PERSONAL COMMITMENT
Text: Read: Psalms 101:2-4
Daily Bible Study: Ezekiel 21-22; Matthew 15-16

"I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart" (Psalm 101:2).

Commitment is a responsibility that takes up energy, time and other resources from you, yet you put in all these as an obligation. Many establishments have folded up due to lack of commitment on the part of stakeholders and staff that worked there. So also, the number of true believers in Christ is gradually reducing due to lack of personal commitment on the part of older believers to follow-up with younger believers and newly converted souls. The pursuit of riches and materialism has crept so much into our lives that we barely have time for the things of God.

This has given opportunity to hypocrites to infiltrate the church system and parade themselves as pastors with appealing preaching to gather multitudes who want to be called Christians but don’t want to obey God’s commands. So we appear to have many “believers” worldwide, yet we see no repentance from sins, no remorse over evil done; rather crimes, violence, immorality and all forms of ungodliness are on the increase and worst of all is that they are perpetrated by those labelled as Christians, who are supposed to know and do otherwise.

Make a personal commitment to not only serve God, but to also encourage others to do same. Endeavour to create and devote time to reach out unto others regarding God’s way, works and services. Do all you can to check up on and follow-up with younger believers and new converts as they are the first targets of the devil; let them not be lost because of your negligence.

Prayer: Gracious Father in Heaven, please forgive our over busyness and negligence of Your services. Help us to be serious with Your work and be very committed, we pray in Christ’s name, Amen.

Topic: ARE YOU PEACEFUL?
Text: Read: 2 Thessalonians 3:16
Daily Bible Study: Ezekiel 19-20; Matthew 13-14

"Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all". (2 Thessalonians 3:16).

Peace is sweet when we have it, but more lovely when we give it to others. A man that wants peace must himself give peace to others. You can only reap what you have sown; you cannot sow violence, bloodshed and wars and then turn around to call for peace. You will in some way get back the violence you sowed, whether you like it or not! Essential as peace is, why are we not all peaceful?

Apostle Paul admonished the brethren at Thessalonica to live in peace. He knew that they already had peace in them that they could cultivate and enjoy amongst themselves. We too can enjoy and share peace with our family, friends and loved ones. We can also extend the gospel of peace to those who are yet to know God in our spheres of influence through our words and characters. While we do this, our family, our community and the nation will know and enjoy peace.

Do not be in the habit of always causing arguments and starting or supporting a fight. Do not always insist on your will and your way, this is what causes the arguments that lead to fights. It is good to let go for peace to reign and rather lose to prevent a heated argument, than insist on claiming you are right and causing a fight. Generations after you will remember you for either being a man of peace or a man of war and violence; the choice is up to you.

Prayer: Oh LORD, our peace! May Your peace never elude us Your children. Help us to cultivate peace and maintain it with our fellow men, We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Good morning Beloved Brethren,

Topic: BE A GOOD LISTENER
Text: Read: Ecclesiastes 5:1
Daily Bible Study: Ezekiel 15-16; Matthew 9-10

"Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools…" (Ecclesiastes 5:1).

Listening is a skill not everyone has. It is very possible to be hearing what a teacher or someone is saying to you, but not listening. This is a key factor that separates students who sit in the same class, undergo the same training but score differently during examinations. You hear with your ears but listen with your heart; when your heart is away from the speaker, you can only hear sounds coming from the speaker but it is not registering in your heart, so you may not even remember what the speaker was saying. This is also the reason many Christians fail in the Christian race; they hear what is preached but are not listening.

To be able to listen, one must pay attention and to be able to pay attention, one must be calm, steady, quiet and free from distractions. When you are not quiet, within and without, you cannot be calm. When your heart is skipping from thought to thought, you cannot focus on what is being said to you.

Learn to attach less importance to material things, so your heart will not always be filled with many thoughts. Learn to sit calmly and observe quiet moments with God; not to bombard Him with requests, but to dwell on His goodness, majesty, awesome power, wonderful creations and amazing grace towards mankind. It is at these calm and quiet moments that you can listen when God speaks and use those words to transform your life and that of others. Learn to be calm.

Prayer: Eternal King of kings, please give us a calm mind to dwell on Your glory and enable us to listen when You speak and act accordingly, we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Topic: DON’T BRING POVERTY TO YOURSELF
Text: Read: Prov. 6:9-11
Daily Bible Study: Ezekiel 13-14; Matthew 7-8

"Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: so shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth…" (Proverbs 6:10-11).

A crop of pupils were asked what they would want to take up as a career when they were grown. Their responses showed that they had ideas about different juicy careers they could pursue. When asked why they wanted the careers they chose, majority of them chorused, “We want to be rich”. This is the same reason most of us work for the companies we work for or do the businesses we do.

Poverty does not just come all of a sudden to anyone; it takes a gradual process, but once it sets in it can take several years and even several generations before it is eradicated. So what causes poverty and how can we avoid it? Many things can cause poverty, but the most common cause is laziness! People, who refuse to be hard working and prefer to always beg for a living, invariably attract poverty to themselves and generations after. Greed and selfishness are also other causes of poverty as those who refuse to give will also not be given! Mismanagement of wealth and God’s blessings can also lead to poverty.

You cannot love sleep and escape poverty, as they go hand-in-hand. There is time for everything! There is a time to plan and work towards your goals and also a time to rest, sleep and get refreshed. Failure to balance things will certainly result in issues. Prayers and fasting are good when coupled with hard work, but sleeping in the church without going out to work will not save you from poverty.

Prayer: Gracious Father in Heaven, thank You for all You have blessed us with. Help us to work hard, plan well and rightly manage our resources, we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Good morning Beloved Brethren,

Topic: KEEP HOPE ALIVE
Text: Read: Psalm 94:17-19
Daily Bible Study: Ezekiel 11-12; Matthew 5-6

"In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul" (Psalm 94:19).

What is that thing that has been disturbing you for a long time that you have been forced to accept as your fate? Sometimes you begin to feel that you are facing such challenges because God has not forgiven your past sins. Several thoughts cross your mind as to why God will allow that situation or condition to persist despite all your pleadings through long prayers and even fasting.

God’s word today wants you to rejoice despite the circumstance that challenges you. Even as He re-assured all His servants in the past, He is also re-assuring us that He is with us; despite what we are going through and that we should never lose hope. He knows every bit of what worries us and He is very much in charge of all situations. He is all-knowing and all-powerful, so nothing that we are going through that is unknown to Him or beyond His handling.

Just as Christ encouraged Apostle Paul telling him His grace was sufficient unto Paul, so He wants us to know that His grace is sufficient unto us. We are limited in our view and cannot see the full picture from the beginning to the end, but God does and plans our lives accordingly. Had Apostle Paul not been in prison, he wouldn’t have had the time to write the many epistles that we read today which have helped to strengthen our Christian faith. So never lose hope, no matter the situation in which you find yourself; God has a plan and purpose for you!

Prayer: Great Jehovah, thank You for always assuring us that You are with us. Please continue to encourage us to serve You, no matter the situation, we pray in Christ’s name, Amen.
