Look out for: Some tongue-in-cheek, witty lyricism. A throb of field recordings of unknown origin lifts the veils on "ISTANTANEE D'ASCOLTO" by Adriano Zanni, a first rank photographer and sound designer who needs no introduction since he is a well-known figure to the third-ear sounds connoisseurs. The psychogenic imprint of his creative formula makes its way back with a sequence of free compositions that reflect yearnings close to the strategies of the most extreme and feral post-industrial verb, the unhealthy fruit of a dark 'terra incognita' undermined by cycles of alien radio frequencies and splashes of brutalizing noise. A work with inexplicable luciferous contours, there where anything can happen, not least the purpose to unleash highly devastating adrenaline rushes.

Clocking in at around 38 minutes, “Aves Raras” has it all: analog slag of tribal ritual music, bold guitar riffs, shimmering layers of synths. Frantic grooves, ghostly vocals, dazzling walls of noise and pastoral tonal passages – the ultimate call to enlightenment through euphoria.

Over again, San Leo prove to be inclined to explore new pathways in their sonic journey, without relying on formulas of any kind. It doesn’t get any tighter, crucial, and most alive than this.

AL.AY pays homage to free jazz legend Albert Ayler. It's the equivalent of a solar flare, a radical statement from San Leo, marking their territory where any song structure melts and turns back into pure sonic energy. Lashing cymbals, walls of guitars and shimmering synthesizers, an aural assault in perpetual search of catharsis in the eye of the storm. An underlying calm and soothing tonal soundscape, in contrast with the more impactful sonic elements.

FUTURA 2000 hits like an interstellar trip, showcasing an unheard side of San Leo’s experimental attitude, even more mysterious yet playful at the same time. Relying more on samples than heavy-hitting guitars, the band pushes deeper into the radical rhythmical concept of the album, shifting the focus towards geometrical abstraction. Enriched by the mixing touch of sonic mastermind Francesco Donadello, the piece (titled after pioneer graffiti artist Futura 2000) flows between psychedelic layers of Carpenter-esque synthesizers and tape manipulation, drilling tribal grooves and tension-filled build-ups.
