This was my first time attending the Mooneyes Hot Rod Custom Show in Yokohama, and I was truly inspired by the incredible quality of the bikes and cars on display. I spent both days at the event to fully take in the experience. If you haven’t been to this show yet, I highly recommend checking it out at least once. Enjoy the video!

“Stoked” doesn’t even begin to describe how I felt. Owning a Bridgeport mill had been a long time goal of mine. As someone with very little machining experience, I’ve always admired the precision and versatility of these machines. The idea of having one in my garage was a game changer for my projects.

I’m very particular when it comes to big purchases, especially expensive ones. After months of searching, I finally found a used Bridgeport in the condition that I wanted. I was nervous though, worried it might sell before I could get to it.

Then came the next challenge: figuring out how to get it home. Hiring riggers was out of the question, their fees were nearly half the cost of the mill itself. I spent two full days preparing for the task. Day one was all about research, watching YouTube videos and reading forums. Day two was dedicated to planning the logistics: calculating costs, gathering tools, and figuring out every detail of the transport and building a heavy duty pallet. By the end of those two days, I felt pretty confident I could handle the move myself.

Loading the mill onto the trailer was pretty straight forward since Tom (the seller) had a forklift.
I ended up spending two hours there, not because of the loading process but because I couldn’t stop geeking out over all his machines. Tom had some great stories to share, too. He used to be a shifter kart racer, and his garage was lined with trophies. I didn’t even have to ask why he was selling the Bridgeport, his garage had two more Bridgeports and a few Hardinge lathes.

After saying goodbye to Tom, I hit the road, stopping three times along the way to check the straps and make sure everything stayed secure. By the time I got home, the sun had already set. My dad came over to help me unload the mill. The heaviest thing I’ve ever brought home.

The entire process, from buying to transporting and setting up the mill, was a massive learning experience. It gave me a deeper appreciation for the complexities of machine transport and the satisfaction that comes from achieving a long-held goal. I’m excited to start this new chapter and see where this journey takes me.

This project has been a year in the making, and we’re thrilled to finally share it with everyone. Ever since our early days riding Honda Shadows, we’ve loved the look and feel of high mids, and we’re excited to bring that same vibe to this release. Our high mids are now available our store and ready to ship. The store will be open until this Friday 11/15/24 and will be closed from 11/16/24-12/6/24 as we will be in Japan for the HRCS show. Thank you for your support!

Quick update on my 1928 Ford Model A “Coupester” build. For those who are new here, I picked up this Model A back in April in Lone Pine, California.

I had been searching for a roadster but couldn’t pass up the deal on this Leatherback Coupe. So, I made the trip and trailered it home. It first my first time towing and honestly, it wasnt as bad as I thought it’d be.

Once I got it home, I got to work on the teardown. I’m actually glad I ended up with a coupe—compared to the roadster, it has more interior space. However, since it’s a Leatherback, the roof isn’t as durable as the solid metal roof on a standard coupe. As you can see in the photos, the roof was too far gone to salvage, so I removed it, which is how the “Coupester” name came about. After that, I chopped the doors and windshield.

Next up, I’ll be removing the body from the frame, which I’ll be selling along with the motor, wheels, and transmission. I’m only keeping the body for this project, as I’ll be running it on a 5-12 chassis.

The plan is to have it driving by 2028 for its 100th anniversary, but I’m aiming to get it on the road within the next two years. Since many of you have been asking about it, I thought I’d share this progress update. And for those curious, the “blvd” in Lnspltblvd stands for the cars in my life. (Whittier Boulevard, Van Nuys Boulevard, and Sunset Boulevard are classic examples of iconic cruising boulevards.)

About Us

Lnspltblvd is founded by a group of friends who are into custom motorcycles: transforming your average stock motorcycles into one-off machines.

The name Lnspltblvd comes from the art of Lanesplitting which is only legalized in the state of California; therefore, people immediately know when hearing ‘Lnspltblvd’ that we are California Boys— Northern California to be specific.

We're a group of self taught garage builders with a "chop whatcha got" mentality. You'll see a mix of foreign and American bikes amongst the group. Building our bikes is like an episode of Wheel of Fortune: keep the budget low because there's no way we can afford to buy the vowels. So we chopped off the vowels like how we'd chop unnecessary bike parts.
