📯 CALL FOR WRITERS! 📯

Hello Peeps!

We are now looking for writers for our next issue of the Stockholm Journal of International Affairs!

In 2024, around 2 billion voters – more than ever before in history and representing about half of all people in the world – are heading to the polls in national elections. Some have already been concluded: Taiwan and Pakistan elected new presidents, while Bangladesh and Azerbaijan kept their old ones. Notable ones yet to come are the uniquely multinational European Union elections in June, and a likely rematch between Biden and Trump in the United States in November. India’s gigantic general elections will run along side those of its smaller archipelagic neighbor, the Maldives. The list goes on. More or less democratic, all of these elections will play their role in shaping and reshaping global affairs for the coming years and beyond.

Therefore, our next issue will be themed “Super Election Year”! So if you are interested in writing on the topic of this year’s many elections, and the circumstances surrounding them, please send your pitch by email to [email protected].

And, as always, if you have something completely different in mind that you are itching to write about, you’re very welcome to pitch that idea as well!

The article can be anywhere between 500 and 2000 words, and should be written in the style of magazine articles - i.e. not an academic paper. If you feel unsure about what we're looking for, why not browse through a couple of our previous issues at ufstockholm.se/journal or grab one of our paper copies from our wall stand in the C-corridor at Södra huset, Campus Frescati!

Develop your writing skills with the help of your friendly neighborhood editors and pitch your article idea to us at [email protected], by the last day of January!
