The CRTC and Industry Canada will not let us broadcast until we jump through a lot of hoops.....Which we are going to do with your help! I originally thought this would be a no-brainer, but it's obviously a long way to launch day, and nickels and dimes, and lack of time, keep getting in the way.....
There are a few ways to help.

#1 Raise capital. Stop by the Bear's Paw and give us $20, or whateve

r you can, or go to the http://frogonthebog.com/radio/ and donate as little or as much as you want. Besides the radio software, I now have to do a $30 name-search and a $100 society registration besides the future expenses with CRTC, Socan, etc!

#2 Write a letter of support. We need support from people who
a) want to hear radio, people who think community radio is good for the community and
b) support from people who in reality or
c) even in their imagination believe that they will contribute to Park radio. (submit songs, serve on the board, host a show, manage the website, fundraise, perform live, or whatever)

#3 Help set up. We're looking for volunteers to negotiate their way through the CRTC, apply for non-profit status, and do other jobs to help get this on the rails as fast as possible. Let me know if you can take a little paperwork load digitally!

I start with a section on respect and maintaining access, then the incredible history and also, some alternate hikes. Google Earth continues to have poor imagery for this area at the mome...

Our Story

It’s been over 5 years now that we’ve been broadcasting from the spare bedroom at the Bear’s Paw. Sometimes with more effort and sometimes with less! Over the years quite a few community members have donated music, created programming and a few have added their voices to the Radio. Besides reaching out to tourists and community members, and helping add to the unique we-do-it vibe of Wells, I feel like our greatest accomplishment to date has been bringing radio development money to Wells that has helped create employment but more importantly captured the voices of Wells and rebroadcast our modern heritage and history through those voices.

Park Radio itself, operates completely without a budget, advertising income, or any source of revenues. The only support money we’ve received has flowed through to support external projects like “Why’dya come here and Why’dya stay”. Being a community based station means we have almost no boundaries for programming. You’ll see that we focus on regional and canadian music, but we also have developed programs like “Treeplanter Hour” that creatively celebrates the tree planting community, or Wells Musical Goldmine that features artists that have made Wells their creative home. We’re always looking for new voices and programming, and, in the age of cell phones, it’s never been easier to get your voice on the radio. If you have a radio idea, or contribution bring it on!
