On Episode 121 of the Guest Speaker Series, we kick off the new year welcoming the one and only ISHA! to the show! ISHA! (Formerly ishafromthe978) is a rising superstar in MA who is incredibly versatile as a performer, vocalist, and artist. She recently released her groundbreaking project ‘RIP ISHAFROMTHE978’ as a rebrand and the start of a new era of ISHA! as an artist, which she talks about at length on this episode. The project includes features from Big Sosa, Caev, MUDA!, and Neo R3tro.

ISHA! talks about her upbringing in Lawrence as well, where music and performing were constants in her life, and also describes learning poetry in school as a spark for her songwriting abilities. ISHA! also discusses balancing her life as an artist and a mother, with her son being one of her biggest inspirations.

Mike & ISHA! also discuss a variety of topics, including her experience opening for Young M.A, her eccentric nail designs and variety of tattoos, as well as her love for going to the movies and reviewing them online, and so much more.

On Cloud 9 from The Fire Inside 2 last night. It’s easy to find talented people to fill a lineup. It’s rare to bring a group of people together who were so positive, enthusiastic, egoless, and supportive of each other. That energy manifested itself throughout the entire night. Can confidently say I’ve never been a part of a group hug after a show before 😂

Traditionally a producer for artists such as Vintage Lee, JORD4NEVERDIED has fully evolved into an artist who’s become a force as an R&B singer and songwriter. He recently released his full-length debut album ‘GOOD GIRLS ARE OVERRATED!’, an 11-track modern R&B masterpiece, which features Starchild Kayla, Alexandr., Jay Briss, & STEFAN THEV, with production by Sam Sully, STEVAN THEV, and more.

JORD4NEVERDIED talks about his experiences transitioning from being a producer to an artist, and shares numerous stories about the creation of ‘GOOD GIRLS ARE OVERRATED!’, including the insight behind its potentially controversial title.

Next up is l.ucas: a multitalented creative who is also a popular producer and engineer in MA, l.ucas has rapidly grown as an artist over the years, creating beautiful blends of pop and R&B. On Episode 119 of the Guest Speaker series, we welcome Cambridge, MA producer and artist, Connis! Connis shares many aspects of his musical journey, including how he and his friends learned to make music in middle and high school on their own, in an era where equipment was much less accessible than it is today. Connis also details the house in Jamaica Plain he lived in for many years in the late 2010s which was considered an “artist hub” at the time.

Connis details his upcoming collaborative album with Loe4t, and how he manages to balance his creativity as both a producer and vocalist. He also discusses how living in New York for a time impacted him as a performer, as he still frequents performing in New York City and its surrounding areas.

Mike & Connis also discuss a variety of topics, including the new wave of artists in Boston, which viral dances of this generation compare to those of past generations, why The Sopranos is more relevant now than ever before, and so much more.

Show & Tell Boston is a community-driven podcast focused on having in-depth group panels with guests from all walks of life on a variety of topics which include music, art, mental health, religion, and so much more.

Mike is first joined by Mos Generous, who shares the musical side of his creativity as an artist. He talks about how his Nigerian background, unique upbringing growing up between Massachusetts and Florida, and a memorable talent show when he was a teenager, all contributed to him becoming a musician. On Episode 117 of the Guest Speaker Series, we are joined by rapper, producer, & song-writer Jackson Whalan! Jackson was a pivotal feature on our debut single “Try Me” also featuring Teeba, Sig Shalome, Aristotle Jones, & Nate Nics, which is out now on all platforms.

Jackson has a uniquely interesting story which he details in depth: it includes his early days being ingratiated into the Railroad Street Youth Project while living out in Great Barrington, MA, a program that was deeply influential to his initial love for music. Jackson then moved to NYC for college, where he was in a band and made major progress in his musical career.

Jackson & Mike also discuss his new single with HunnaG called “Rich Life” and his experience being on his platform, as well as the success of his single “This Hits Different” which has been widely successful in the sync game, most notably landing on an Xfinity commercial. He also details his upcoming album and what fans may be able to anticipate with this new sound he is cultivating.

On Episode 116 of the Guest Speaker series, we welcome one of the most recognizable hip-hop artists in New England, Bloomfield, Connecticut’s very own ANoyd! ANoyd and his team stopped by AOA Studios in part to promote his upcoming headline show ‘WHY NOT NOW?!’, this Saturday November, 2nd, at Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge: which will feature sets from multiple artists from the MA area such as César, Suriel, LYFE, J Faith, & Kemic. Tickets are still available, so make sure you secure yours! In this episode, ANoyd shares some behind-the-scenes aspects of the show which include how his single “Why Not Now?!” impacted its branding, as well as the full band experience fans can expect for his set.

Additionally, ANoyd sits down with Mike to discuss a variety of topics, including his introduction to the music industry which he credits to producer RichBreed, as well as his father, popular reggae artist Chuck Fenda. ANoyd also breaks down the CT music scene and the impact its had on him, and vice versa.

Melks made an appearance earlier in the year on Episode 92 with Bleave, and talks about how his longstanding Bar Out series has been deeply impactful in creating longterm relationships with artists like Bleave and Navi; the latter of whom recently released his album ‘Open Canvas’, which was a collaborative project produced in full by Melks. The guys both talk about their unique album rollout which included 4 separate album listening parties that happened in the same week around different parts of the state in order to provide the opportunity for as many people to hear the album as possible.

Navi & Melks also discuss the impact of Lawrence’s ever-growing arts scene. Best of Pop Quiz 2024 Thank you all for your support of Year 6 of Turntable Teachers: whether you were a guest on the podcast, listened to one of our episodes, supported one of our live events, showed us love on social media, and/or everything in between. The people within the artist community here in Massachusetts, and New England as a whole, is what keeps this platform so fun for me. I’ll always recognize the responsibility it takes to be a welcoming and comfortable platform that this community needs and deserves. When you come on this show, of course we’re going to talk about your music, and your art. You’re all such amazing artists. But you’re a human first. And I love those conversations even more, because I get to know you all on a deeper level, to varying degrees of course. And you get to show those different sides of you to the world, which is why the Pop Quiz segment of the podcast has always been my favorite. I have cherished every conversation I was able to have this year, and I can’t wait for all of the exciting ones I’ll hopefully get to have in 2025.
