On Episode 134 of the Guest Speaker Series, we got a podcast crossover for you: we welcome Jack Bardsley and Owen Steele of Boston’s Big Four to the show!

Covering all 6 states, Jack & Owen stop by to discuss how Boston’s Big Four became what it is today. From music, to sports, to food, and more, BB4 is the ideal platform for all things New England! With such a rich culture of sports and food in Boston in particular, Jack & Owen feel an obligation to spotlight the ever-growing music and arts scene in their coverage to prove that Boston has more than its stereotypical offerings. They curate a running playlist for the latest music in New England, and on the podcast share some of their favorite artists coming from the area.

On Episode 133 of the Guest Speaker Series, we welcome one of Boston’s brightest young music stars and best performers, the one and only SeeFour! SeeFour is fresh off a deep run on Season 2 of Netflix’s premier hip-hop show, Rhythm & Flow, where he made it all the way to the Battle Round, losing a tight contest to finalist Sura Ali, but received high praise from the likes of Eminem, Ludacris, Latto, & DJ Khaled. Since then, SeeFour has been steadily on the rise in popularity nationwide, and recently released the deluxe edition of his album ‘Spirit of a Warrior’. SeeFour dives into his experiences on Rhythm & Flow at length, as well as shares his inspiration behind ‘Spirit of a Warrior’.

SeeFour also shares highlight moments of his early days as an artist, most notably winning Leedz Edutainment’s Rap Race at the young age of 16, beating out notable established artists. It is there where he met Rob Kelley-Morgan, CEO of PutInWork Records, who has been managing Seefour ever since. Their partnership is one of friendship, trust, and dedication that has made them both incredibly successful both together and individually. SeeFour describes the impact of Rob on his life, and shares some highlight moments that include a hilarious night at an Atlanta strip club, losing his voice on tour, and so much more.

On Episode 132 of the Guest Speaker Series, we welcome hip-hop artist and multimedia creative, Jxylen, to the show! Jxylen is originally from Springfield, MA, and boasts an impressive catalog of alternative hip-hop music, as well as cinematic visuals, both in the form of photo and video. Jxylen is the perfect example of the modern day creative, as someone who prides himself on putting the art first and foremost above all else.

Early in this episode, Jxylen discusses the underrepresented Western, MA music scene, and the many incredible creative minds in the area. Jxylen also dives into his latest project ‘DIVINE ORDER: ACT II’ in collaboration with E.N.G Creation, as well as his latest visual project titled “A Look Into My Creative Mind”.

On Episode 131 of the Guest Speaker Series, we welcome the hip-hop legend and Lawrence, MA native, Termanology, to the show! Termanology’s illustrious career includes a discography of 50+ albums, with collaborations that range from Mac Miller, Paul Wall, Bun B, Statik Selektah, and so many more. He’s even hit the Billboard charts on multiple occasions.

Despite the fact that Termanology is a nationally known figure, his roots are still deeply tied to MA. Term and Mike discuss the state of MA music currently, as well as reflect on his come-up in Lawrence during a time when multiple acts like the aforementioned producer Statik Selektah, rapper Reks, and the late singer/songwriter Nawlege, all rose in their respective fames.

As an elder statesmen at this point in his career, Term has brought much of his wealth of knowledge into the education field, where he teaches young people how to write music and produce, in partnership with Change the Play, as well as his own non-profit, Good Dad Gang. Term has also written a book ‘100 Ways to Be a Better Dad’ which has changed the narrative as well as the lives of single dads and parents throughout the country, all of which Term discusses at length.

We also have a special edition of Pop Quiz, where Term brings on a guest of his own, friend and vinyl connoisseur, Chico, as they go through some of their favorite vinyls within their respective collections, which include numerous special and exclusive editions that you may not see anywhere else.

On Episode 130 of the Guest Speaker Series, we welcome bassist, producer, and vocalist, Teeba, to the show! After just receiving a Grammy nomination for his production and bass work on Eminem’s latest album ‘The Death of Slim Shady’, Teeba has been working on music out in Detroit with renowned producer Denaun Porter for some time now. Teeba describes the journey of how he gradually became closer with Denaun over time, which eventually led to a placement on Eminem’s song “Fuel” featuring JID. Teeba is no stranger to having his music land on big songs, as his placements include the likes of Nas, DMX, Dave East, and many more.

Teeba is also the founder, bassist, and one of the vocalists of the band Harsh Armadillo, who frequently perform throughout venues in New Hampshire, and New England at large. Teeba also discusses his early years being introduced to the Massachusetts music scene, where he started to connect and work frequently with the likes of Jon Glass, Melks, and SK, amongst others. Teeba truly embodies what it means to be a musician, regardless of the doors that have opened for him because of it.

ALXNE is a full-fledged creative as an artist, producer, instrumentalist, engineer, and podcaster on the award-winning Highstreet. ALXNE shares his background beginning as a guitarist, which ultimately led him down the path he’s on today. As a guitarist, he’s played in multiple bands and toured the country, most notably on Justin Clancy’s tour in 2024.

ALXNE is now focused on the upcoming release of his album ‘Placebo’ which showcases his range as an artist instrumentally and vocally. As someone who engineers and produces for others frequently, ALXNE & Mike also discuss the difficulty in balancing creating for others and finding time to create for yourself. Axe (emcee, producer) and Smok (emcee) both hail from Dorchester, MA and have collectively been in the music game for decades. They describe their come up in hip-hop, and Dorchester’s contribution to the culture, as well as the history of Boston’s troubled history when it comes to segregation within its communities.

The Hangaz are also fresh off their latest release ‘Respect My Fanhood’ which brings together their love of sports and hip-hop in a way that any sports fan can enjoy, with songs that topically range from basketball, to football, to wrestling, and even tennis. Smok also reflects on his hockey fandom, the state of the Bruins team as a whole, and of course, The Hangaz’ music video “Something Bruin”.

He also has 3 albums ready for release in 2025, including joint albums with Big Shug and Confidence, as well as a solo project, proving he is still one of the hardest working emcees in the game today.

He also shares his experiences from his 16 international tours, with a 17th tour scheduled for the spring and summer. After taking a few years away from releasing music, TRIY is gearing up for the release of his next project titled ‘Who Played Who?’, and its first single “Better Off Friends” is out now on all platforms. TRIY discusses what he’s been focused on since his last release ‘Did You Forget’ back in 2022, which includes focusing on his label TRIY Records, compromised of artists & .

TRIY also recently suffered the loss of his father, whom he talks about at length regarding his influence both as a person and musician.

TRIY also reflects on his own fatherhood, raising two kids who also share in his love of drumming at a young age. He also reminisces on some personal stories of his early years growing up, which include him learning to play drums at his church, being cast in a movie in high school, and his musical journey ultimately leading him to Berklee College.

Mike & TRIY also discuss a variety of topics, including TRIY being a movie buff, why Hey Arnold needs to be made into a live action movie, their gripes with Netflix and Disney+, and so much more!
