Want to see something fun? Today I suited up and relocated a bumble bee nest with the use of the latest protective wear and my upgraded cordless bee vac from all my bees.com. I recorded it so maybe you actually will see it. The bees are at my house. Don’t tell Elizabeth.

I passed from Mississippi through Louisiana and back into Mississippi for a job today. Now I’m headed back home to good old Mississippi with a box of College bees.

Pete and I removed an incredible hive this evening. The bees were extremely docile. The combs were very orderly and easy to detach. The honey was delicious and the wax was very thick and easy to handle without crushing. We removed the hive and completed all repairs in an afternoon.

Nine and a half foot ceiling and the hive went top to bottom. Needless to say I was a bit sticky when I got done with this one.

I appreciate my customer making this look like an exciting place to explore. It got smaller and smaller like that hallway in the Wonka chocolate factory. Sixty feet back and in the left rear corner I found the hive I came for. This is after digging through a fair amount of rat soiled insulation and locating evidence of four previous hives. I got the bees out safe and sound but i came out looking like I’d escaped Shawshank through that poo pipe. All in all, not a bad afternoon though. A big thanks for the two dollars from the lady at the Circle K who thought I was homeless.

I know this already looks big but when you consider that this building was constructed in 1920 with ballon style framing and this is on the second floor, you’ll realize the potential for a much larger hive. The hive extended two feet below the baseboard.

It’s a spring cleaning afternoon in the back yard. Elizabeth and Leo joined me for a bit before going in to fix dinner. Cut out calls started this past weekend which for me means the season has officially begun. Im loving this cool weather but it won’t be here much longer.

I’ve been replacing all the lock sets on the honey house this evening. I get to door number four and by muscle memory I quickly sn**ch off whatever was filling the lower hole and slap a new k**b on. It’s only at this point that I realize, all these years the deadbolt and k**b have been in the opposite position of every other door on the building and I’ve never noticed. I think I’m going to leave it like this.
