nse. Shillelagh Law is an Irish slang term used to describe a particularly chaotic situation. It is used in the Irish folk song, "Finnegan's Wake" to describe a fight that broke out at a funeral:

"And then the war did soon engage,
'Twas woman to woman and man to man,
Shillelagh law was all the rage,
