What is Are We Bored Yet?

My name is Aaron Robbins, I’ve been podcasting family friendly content for nearly a decade. I got my start co-hosting Disneyland themed podcasts such as the Disneyland Mixpot, Dole Whips & Dark Rides and Churros & Villains. I love Disneyland and all the opportunity for adventure and imagination that the Southern California theme parks offer.

IN fact, It was drives down I5 that I noticed our family car time was getting predictable. Digital tablets dominated our time together in the car. I wanted something we could all enjoy together. So, I made Best Quiz Ever, a podcast quiz show focused on kids but fun for parents. Best Quiz Ever episodes are still available but creatively I found it lacking something. I wanted to write a show that was more from my heart.

I enjoy writing quiz questions, but I have more to say about roller coasters and growing up in the 80’s than just, What’s faster Space Mountain or Big Thunder? I wanted to talk about silly stuff, science stuff, history and the movies I was raised on. I also wanted to encourage kids to find their own thoughts, story and voice.

Public speaking and discourse is a powerful skill and one that social media may have inadvertently hampered. Why not have kids on a podcast, I thought. So, I started Are We Bored Yet, a podcast that’s fun for the whole family. I started it because I wanted to talk about things I love, but the real purpose behind it is to encourage young people in three key way. First, to know their voice matters. Second, to understand thoughtful answers are important. Lastly, to equip kids with a confident voice.
