Modification of the video publishing schedule of MCMTR Station Rebuild Video Series

Have you wondered why since the publishing of Ep41: Sheung Wan Station, no new episodes have been published?

It is in my best interest to publish all videos by the end of summer 2024 (31 August 2024), and, according to my original plan, it would be the case. However, upcoming episodes after Sheung Wan Station will involve the West Island Line (WIL), which is still not yet complete. Because of the delay, I cannot publish new videos, and consequently, there may be a backlog of videos extending possibly into September.

Therefore, in order to ensure that all other videos will be published by the end of summer, I have decided to modify the video publishing schedule.

Starting this Friday (26 July), the videos originally scheduled after the WIL will be published, with the first one being Austin Station of the Tuen Ma Line (Ep42). The episode number of all videos will be updated accordingly as a result of the schedule modification.

☀️🌑 TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE in North America HAPPENING TODAY (Monday 8 April 2024) - Updates

As announced before, YES, the total solar eclipse WILL BE HAPPENING TODAY, and I have been looking forward to this day for quite a while already! However, I will NOT be live streaming the eclipse as I predict that since most of the viewers are in HK/Asia-Pacific region, they would have no interest in watching a live stream of an eclipse that is happening in North America. Also, since I only have my phone as my main video-capturing device, live streaming means I would sacrifice the opportunity to record it instead. Recording a video results in better video quality when viewed compared to live streaming.

Therefore, I will be recording the eclipse instead of live streaming it, and I will post a video(s) about it later today/soon. For those who are also located in North America and are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to see the solar eclipse, I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE that you do not miss out on this possible once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Finally, I will emphasize this again:
NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN UNLESS WEARING CERTIFIED SOLAR ECLIPSE GLASSES (regular sunglasses are NOT SUFFICIENT to protect your eyes)!!!

☀️🌑 TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE Happening SOON on Monday 8 April in North America!!!

On Monday, 8 April 2024, a rare total solar eclipse will occur in North America (the east side of the continent, including Montreal, Canada!!!). A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, which obscures the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth, meaning the sky will become dark in daytime during the eclipse! I have never experienced something like this before, so I’ll definitely not miss out on this one!

I might do a special live stream on that day to cover this historic moment! If not, I’ll still definitely record this moment and post a video about it. More details to follow. Stay tuned!

As "announced" in yesterday's live stream, yes, 1 April 2024 was indeed the "last day" of MCMTR. From 2 April 2024 onwards, the MCMTR server will officially receive no further developments and updates, and consequently be closed. This decision was made because, since the beginning of 2024, there has been little to no new development in MCMTR. Proposed developments have not been completed either - for example, the full automation of the Island Line, announced way back in January 2024, is still not yet done. Adding on to that, a lot of builders and staff have long-already shifted their focus to MTR Crafters. Therefore, closing MCMTR is the inevitable decision. We know that one day like this would come, and we thought that using 1 April as the day would make it more humorous and memorable.

What Happens Afterwards
- The Minecraft server will be shut down
- The Discord server will be in "pseudo-lock-down" mode: existing members can still chat as usual; new members can still join the server, however they will not be able to chat
- Staff members will remain in the server interacting with members, and offer assistance if needed
- All builders/trainee builders will be suspended (but not demoted)
- All applications and appeal forms will be closed, and those under review will no longer be processed
- The possibility of offering a map download will be considered

Might be Temporary
However, there is a possibility that this closure will just be temporary. In June 2024, the ultimate fate of the server will be decided.

This is the only library and opera house located directly on the Canada-US border. Since it only has an entrance on the US side, when I was visiting it from Canada, I had to access it by walking through the border. However, it is not required to first report to US customs (provided that you stay on the sidewalk leading to the entrance, and that you return to Canada immediately after visiting), making it one of the only few places that you are allowed to do so. It was such a unique and interesting experience!

Politics aside, the opera house, specifically, is actually pretty impressive as it is well maintained over a century with not much renovations.

I have been to both stations, and I find these two stations surprisingly similar. Both stations are elevated, and feature tracks sandwiched between two side platforms. What's more interesting is that both metro systems (South Island Line and the REM) are fully automatic and driverless, and coincidentally have 5 stations each (as of March 2024). What do you guys think about these two stations?
