We were thrilled this weekend to continue expanding our programming with the introduction of Continuity CREW Labs. Through CREW Labs we’re deepening our participant’s understanding by giving them hands-on training as we continue building the future workforce of our film and media production industry in our city, state, and region.

Our incredible team of speakers and industry supporters brought a wealth of knowledge and skills with an unwavering passion for sharing the intricacies of the behind-the-scenes “magic” in our beloved TV shows, films, and media content. Their dedication to passing along their expertise is truly inspiring. Together, we’re laying the groundwork for a vibrant future in the film and media production industry across the Midwest and beyond.

This 18-month fellowship is designed to nurture underrepresented nonfiction storytellers working on their first or second feature film. The Documentary Lab provides holistic support for fellows’ projects and careers through professional development retreats, customized mentorship, and a $25K project grant. Throughout the Lab, filmmakers build a network within the documentary ecosystem, connecting with the fellows and alumni, as well as forging industry relationships across the field.

Listen, there are people reading this who have been trying to get signed for years, maybe even decades. There are others who know they need to be consistent to get what they want but keep coming up with reasons not to post or do the work.

Wherever you fall ...

I want you to remember that there are options here.

For those of us who may never get signed to CAA or other agencies, build something that you can be proud of and create revenue streams that will get you to one million and beyond.

Do you know what’s better than getting signed? Having a million dollars worth of revenue streams that you control and an audience that you actually have a relationship with (that you know).

Today, you don’t need CAA or WME or any other agency to do that for you.

If they come, that’s just a cherry on top, but when they do, you’ll get to decide if they get a piece of what you’ve built.

For those of you that know just posting consistently will get you on the other side of your dreams, save this carousel as a reminder that we don’t need you to be perfect, we need you to be present.

ARTIST SUPPORT GRANTS - Artist Support Grants are for artists of all backgrounds and disciplines who want to advance their careers and complete their creative projects. These grants are not only designed to be flexible and accessible, but they also encourage creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and sustained commitment to artistic work.

ORGANIZATIONAL GRANTS - Organizational Grants are for mission-driven nonprofit arts and culture organizations that produce and present programming in St. Louis City and County. These grants provide a one-year, unrestricted, renewable and flexible grant to support day-to-day operations and programs.

PROGRAM SUPPORT GRANTS - Program Support Grants are for non-arts organizations or fiscally-sponsored projects (including arts programs produced by universities in St. Louis). These grants support a one-year program or project with funding for the production and/or presentation of artistic activities.

This is the original cast of all the very first MDFP productions. My dad and my siblings. It all started with stealing my dad’s camcorder and forcing the sibs to act in whatever I dreamed up. There weren’t any sibling labor laws back then. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and Capri Suns were all it took. Now everyone is all grown up and wants to get paid real money. I miss the old days. We are rarely in the same place at the same time these days. It's me! I’m never in the same place.

ST. LOUIS AREA ADULTS (AGE 18+) are needed to be Background Extras in the Feature Film “On Fire”. No experience is necessary.

Shooting in St Louis, Mo. between Nov. 6th - Dec. 9th, 2023. “On Fire” is based on the Book “On Fire: 7 Choices to Ignite a Radically Inspired Life” written by John O’Leary. The film is directed by Sean McNamara

IF INTERESTED PLEASE SIGN UP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, AND BEFORE NOV. 6th!

If selected extras will be contacted between Oct. 23rd and Dec. 6th.

St. Louis area Adults (AGE 18+) are needed to be non-union paid extras for the feature film “ON FIRE” shooting in St. Louis between Nov. 6-Dec. 9, 2023.

If selected for extra work, the payment is $96.00 / 8 hours. Extras generally work 12-13 hours on set, and must be available to stay on set for the entire 12-13 hours for continuity purposes. After 8 hours of work, an hourly overtime rate will be paid (minus any meal breaks). Payment will be processed by a payroll company. Most extras will work in one scene and one day on set. But, some may be chosen to work multiple days. Adult Extras (age 18+) will portray background roles such as: College Students, hospital employees, diner patrons, prisoners, drivers, professional baseball players, fundraising gala attendees, constructions workers, Busch Stadium employees, audience members listening to John O’Leary speeches, college graduation attendees, Airport travelers, and wedding guests.
