बनारस के कुछ पत्रकारों के साथ रंग भरी एकादशी की कवरेज के दौरान पुलिस अधिकारियों द्वारा बदसलूकी की गई थी। इस मामले में पुलिस प्रशासन ने जांच की और कुछ कार्रवाई भी की है। सूचना यहां संलग्न है।

इस मामले पर PVCHR ने मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय को पत्र लिखा था, जिसके बाद जांच शुरू की गई और पत्रकारों से बदसलूकी के जिम्मेदार अफसर को सुरक्षा ड्यूटी से हटाया गया।

बनारस में पत्रकारों के साथ पुलिस अधिकारी की बदसलूकी के मामले में मानवाधिकार जन निगरानी समिति के डॉक्टर लेनिन ने राष्ट्रीय मानवाधिकार आयोग में शिकायत की है। इस शिकायत में वरिष्ठ पत्रकार पंकज चतुर्वेदी के बयान के आधार पर कार्रवाई की मांग की गई है। शिकायत की पावती संलग्न है। आयोग में इसका डायरी नंबर है 4460/IN/2024.

UAPA is Unlawful Activities Prevention Act that prima facie does not apply on a working journalist until and unless he has done some unlawful activity.
Talking to CAAJ, a senior reporter who was present at the house of Urmilesh told that when he asked the policemen under what charges they are here, the cited UAPA. He told CAAJ, “They had no warrant and they kept searching for books, papers and documents. They seized some books and left for Lodhi Road with Urmilesh”.

Bimal Yadav (officially Bimal Kumar), reporter with Dainik Jagran, Araria, Bihar was killed yesterday in broad daylight. Details reveal that this is a case of personal rivalry and crime, not political or anything related to his reporting as such.

Bimal Kumar, Dainik Jagran reporter from Araria, Bihar was killed in broad daylight. He was the sole witness in his brother's murder case (2019). His brother was Shashibhushan alias Gabboo Yadav, who was Belsara Sarpanch as well as a local office bearer of RJD. The police arrested one Rupesh Yadav, a dreaded criminal, for murdering Gabboo Yadav. The final witness statement was coming close in this case and Bimal Kumar is believed to be under pressure by the other party.

उन्नाव के पत्रकार मन्नू अवस्थी को गोली मारी गई। वे लगातार भूमाफिया की धमकियों का शिकार थे। माफिया के खिलाफ खबर लिखने पर उन्हें जान का खतरा था। ऐसा उन्होंने मार्च में पुलिस प्रशासन को लिखी एक चिट्ठी में जाहिर किया था। पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री अखिलेश यादव की प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में भी उन्होंने भूमाफिया से जान के खतरे की बात कही थी। फिर भी उन्हें कोई सुरक्षा नहीं मिली। फिलहाल वे कानपुर के अस्पताल में जिंदगी और मौत के बीच झूल रहे हैं।
