Paurl Walsh on Pocket Worlds:
"I started working on the early material that would become POCKET WORLDS immediately after suffering a total mental breakdown that saw me unable to work for 6 months and from which I still have not fully recovered. In those early months, as I stumbled through a fog of emotional distress and shifting medications, I began working on new material without knowing what I was making, and as my psyche gradually re-formed, interesting musical structures began to take shape. At the time I was reading physics books about cosmology as a way to ground myself in something concrete but foreign to my immediate world. It seemed to help me maintain perspective. The concept of “pocket universes” stuck with me and seemed to isomorphically describe the music I was making, and the image of pocket universes floating in a sea of a larger meta-universe perfectly fit the moment and organically became the backbone and guiding principle behind the record.
You will hear in the music the work of a shattered mind slowly gluing itself back together as a disparate collection of musical ideas re-integrating into a cohesive whole. It is electronic music but it does not adhere to one genre nor often even sound electronic.
Regardless of all that, the album is simply meant to take the listener on an auditory journey.
Presented here in sections for convenience, it is meant to be listened to in its entirety without breaks, and with the listener’s full attention. I hope that you get as much out of listening to it as I did out of making it. It’s a wild ride if you’re willing to take it."
Branden Glasson's "The Reality of Other Poeple" and Other Works for Reed Organ comes out next month on Debacle. Five zoned tracks of vintage reed organ drones by the Mills College alum. Pre-order on CD or digital now.

Great interview with Adam H. Sounds from Kaput Magazine.
"The anger about this had to flow somewhere so it went into 'Floods'."

Adam, you just moved from Brooklyn to Berlin in 2021. Why so? Because of the pandemic and the fact that half of America now belongs to a certifiable death cult (a.k.a. the Republican Party), New York now is like how it was in the 1980s–except without the cheap rents and thriving art scene. I belie...

Hey folks, I had basically abandoned this space for a while now, I will try to post a bit more about our goings on. We have released a stack of amazing records over the last few years. Check them out at our bandcamp now. Of note from this year are albums from Garek Druss, Danny Paul Grody, and Adam H. Sounds. Plus a new imprint YIELD that is starting with a banger from Paurl Olias Walsh.
