**UPDATE**

On Saturday August 24th, The Newburyport Police Department identified the vehicle pictured here, believed to have been involved in a hit and run accident last Tuesday. The vehicle was subsequently located and recovered over the weekend. The owner of the vehicle has also been identified. There is currently an active criminal investigation ongoing into this incident. The identification and recovery of the vehicle would not have been possible without assistance from our partners in the community and the unrelenting work of Newburyport Police officers and detectives. Thank you to the investigators involved and to the community members for their assistance with this incident! - Lt. Simons

Salisbury police recently summonsed a man to Newburyport District Court after allegedly damaging a Donald Trump campaign sign. Salisbury police Chief Thomas Fowler said the man was placed in protective custody for drunkenness after damaging the sign and a few smaller ones outside Vynorius Piledriving on Elm Street. The suspect's arraignment date has yet to be determined.
