Last week I saw some pro-photographers (at least I assumed they were professionals because they had stupid expensive equipment) gathered around an old weathered tree at . They were gathered to shoot flickers feeding their brood. So this morning, I got there first thinking I'd avoid the crowds. I guess the word got out in the photog community. It wasn't long before I was joined by a 'focus of photographers' with their giant lenses and ritzy cameras. I was shooting long enough that I came away with a couple of satisfactory shots; this is one I'm happy with the end result.

On any given day Terra Nova Park in Richmond offers plenty of photo ops. For me, this morning was all about capturing the Wild Alberta Rose. A bee joined in the search.

Thank you for taking the time to post birthday greetings. Seeing them brightens the day. Love hearing from old friends and colleagues and especially former students.
Facebook now has the option of attaching a charitable donation component of posting birthday wishes, offering several good charities. Didn’t do that this year. However, if you are so inclined to make a donation to mark a birthday, I suggest checking this campaign out.

The goal is to raise enough money to provide an ongoing student home audio equipment fund while memorializing the late Dennis O’Neill, one of our most loved instructors. Future broadcasters and content creators need help in starting their side gigs/careers. They will all need home studio equipment. As an incentive to donate, I will shave off my beard (and long hair) when we reach our goal. Thanks for considering and please feel to share with anyone.
