Qotsmag Publisher, Erik Aleph is with DC Mayor Muriel Bowser to join Community Leader of Check It Enterprises and Mute DC, Ronald Moten, at the Unveiling and Ground-Breaking of the New GO-GO Mobile Museum.
The GO-GO MUSEUM will be located In
Historic Anacostia DC. The opening will be in the Spring of 2024;
the first of its kind in the United States.
Says Ron Moten, “Fifteen years ago, in front of 4,000 people at the 2009 GO-GO Awards,
I announced plans to build a GO-GO Museum in Washington, DC…that was our dream.
Amongst many GO-GO artists in attendance were EU's lead vocals and bassit, Gregory "Sugar Bear" Elliot and Film maker, Spike Lee whom collaborated with E.U. on Lee's iconic film, "School Daze". Lee incorporated EU's song, "Doin Da Butt" on the sound track of his film. Go-Go's soulful funky rythmns and percussions of Doin Da Butt
became a favorite party staple and an instant international hit. During the ceremony, Mr. Lee was honored today by Mayor Bowser's proclamation
"Spike Lee Day".
