In a bold response to the challenges posed by Covid, Core Design Workshop revived a late 1980s terrace in Subang Jaya, Malaysia.

Stripping it down to its essentials, the architects embraced 2022 minimalism, creating two interconnected blocks—indoor and outdoor—linked by full-height glass doors, liberating the space from pandemic-induced constraints.

This minimalist design, with transparent doors and windows, centers around an open dining and kitchen area in the linear double-volume outdoor block.

Semi-indoor tree gardens provide solutions for daylight and ventilation challenges. The suspended master bedroom adds dynamism, creating a harmonious blend of indoor and outdoor living—a refreshing response to changing times.
