We put on the Grammys because we saw that Mandisa had earned one, who we are all huge supporters of. It was really odd watching the Grammys waiting to see Mandisa's name mentioned for her music category because we are all so out of touch on today's mainstream music, as we listen to nothing but christian music in our house (KLOVE is on all the time). Some of
the acts were good and some pleasantly brought me back to other times in my life. However, what was a somewhat awkward, and yet still pleasant viewing experience turned sour in my stomach real fast when during the Macklemore set. Though I could deal with the offensive message in the song that seemed to me as a put down to christian beliefs, Queen Latifah come on stage and begins to officiate a "wedding" for several gay couples. Now, I have my young daughters asking me, "Daddy, what does 'gay' mean?" and "Why are two men getting married?"
Are you kidding me?! I was so embarrassed that I had my children there being ambushed on what I thought was a family show, on a family-conscious network with left-wing liberal propaganda and ideologies. And please don't misread me here. I do not "hate" gay people. I opposed their lifestyle because it is contrary to God's law. However, as a Christian with these beliefs, the gay community would have you believe that is "hate speech" and that I am displaying my "hatred" for gay people. They probably would call me "homophobic". However, to have a phobia is to have a fear. Why would I... For what reason? My message is this: If you choose to live that way, it is your decision, your life. You want to go against His law? That's your choice too. But please to not ram your lifestyle down my throat and my family's throat. We don't do that to you. You don't see us setting up church on the Grammy stage. In fact, the gay agenda needs to take a step back and learn a lesson: the more you force your issue in the public square where there are parents of vulnerable children, you will find us becoming more and more intolerant of your message. You want tolerance? Then show some yourselves! Shame on you Grammys. Shame on you Recording Academy. Shame on you CBS. There is nothing family-oriented left on the Grammys or on CBS anymore, apparently. My family will never watch anything ever again on CBS - and never again will we watch the Grammys.
