If you’ve ever thought the idyllicism of Maine was exaggerated in media, you’d be egregiously wrong.

Pictured below is my high school, Lee Academy, an open campus comprised of a handful of buildings all nestled within the evergreens and ever-changing colors of Central Maine’s wilderness.

The words spill onto the page effortlessly, forming sentences that dance with rhythm and meaning. There's a sense of exhilaration, of being reunited with a long-lost friend, as I rediscover the joy of crafting stories and exploring new worlds with my words. It's a reminder that creativity is a boundless wellspring, ready to burst forth with imagination once the blockages are cleared away.

ABOUT a month and a half ago, I decided to bite the bullet and start writing again. I had been postponing doing so for years because I know myself—I can get pretty single-minded in my focus, and it’s hard to break from writing when you’re in a groove, hard to stop thinking about the story […...
