EPISODE 6 - Lunch Time at The Glass Barn
What we have found when visiting La Fromagerie Au Gré des Champs was simply a herd of merry cows, under the strict surveillance of four police-cats and a family business of organic cheese producers. Touring with us for episode 6 is the entrepreneur and co-owner Marie-Pier Gosselin, who is part of the third generation that is now involved with the operations of the farm.
It is also Marie-Pier and her parents who undertook and overviewed the planning and construction of this unique "glass barn" designed by La SHED Architecture. A challenge and final masterpiece that is now a sun drenched and little bit more cozy habitat for the queens. All of the cows here, are known by names and unique traits of character.
By day during the summer, the large doors will also roll up, allowing cows to roam free and venture out of the barn, where the grass is always greener.
Kind of obsessed with this shot from our episode inside @gearyfactorylofts 🎥 Remember we only shoot on iphone now.
For Episode 5 in Toronto, we pushed our luck and the right buttons to get inside a former factory being converted into bright new tech and small businesses workspaces.
The Geary Factory Lofts are an interesting commercial product designed for small businesses and individuals, offering them the opportunity to buy their workspace, as part of a greater full service building and enjoy slick shared amenities. Therefore instead of leasing, entrepreneurs can put their money to work as a form of real estate investment. The individual lofts can be bought, resold or subleased over time just like a condo.
We met up with sales representative and broker Nancy Lee Jobin at her bright showcase gallery to discuss the vision and masterplan for the transformation of the now heritage protected former button factory. The project is located on the raw, energetic and creative Geary Avenue, at the heart of the evolving neighbourhood at Dufferin and Dupont.
Using only their charm and wits, @agentjefflee and @subcheeseforguac were allowed to explore the still raw and untouched section of the factory. You can tell by the natural volumes and sunlight, how much potential these old bones will carry into the future. The construction kicking off soon will stack up 2 additional floors crowned with rooftop patio and amenities.
