How un-glamorous some behind-the-scenes shots are!
Small update: the rough cut is going well! It’s more than half (and dare I hazard nearly 3/4?) of the way done! Cross your fingers for us, and it should be finished before the end of January. 🤞
Once this process is done, it’s time for all of us to watch through the cut with a fine-tooth-comb, writing down any continuity errors we see, any performances we want to look at alternate footage for, any changes to transitions, angles, or pacing, and any scenes we can trim down on. Life Cycle is such an involved story with a depth of world-building and a significant amount of (fantastic) improve from actors, so our rough cut may end up being closer to 2-3 hours long, whereas the Final Cut will have to be closer to 90 minutes! So you see we may unfortunately have to cut out a lot of fantastic moments … who knows, maybe we’ll end up with a “Director’s Cut” extended version too… 😜
Wish us luck as the rough cut is finalized! And if you’re a producer, keep an eye out on your emails come the end of January - we may set up a producers-only viewing of the film at the studio at that point!! 🤩🥳
