Wonderful news!
Just seven days until it was set to disappear forever from Australian television, community TV has been granted three more years of free-to-air broadcasting.
Please share. Keep community TV on air.
In May, 700,000 Australians tuned in to Community TV programming via free-to-air TV.
Having re-emerged as essential broadcasters in 2020, C31 Melbourne and Geelong and Channel 44 Adelaide continue to provide much-needed news, current affairs, community events and locally produced entertainment to the people of Greater Melbourne & Adelaide.
CTV stations are due to be switched off in preference for no-alternative use this month.
A vibrant, diverse, self-sufficient and free service switched off in the middle of a pandemic with no discernible upside or benefit to justify its removal from free-to-air TV spectrum.
What gives!?
