Ohhh Hello December 3! How did you get here already?

I’m not a fan when Thanksgiving comes late on the calendar because once that was over, we plunged into December! Dang, I feel cheated!! I’m glad I decorated early this year so now I can enjoy it and get to shopping and planning all the things!

Everyone has a story.

Something you might not know about me, I love autobiographies. I love to learn about others and their inspiring life experiences, but when someone wants to know yours, it’s kinda surreal to think anyone would want to know about your life!

Well, a few months ago, a local LA digital magazine reached out and wanted to interview me for my personal story. They wanted to share some Los Angeles area creatives in their “Inspiring Stories” series.

So I obliged, but not right away! I kinda was reluctant in sharing and even though I share a lot on social media with my home, family, and everyday life, it still felt strange.

But in the end, we all have a story, and the best way to document mine and share it with you all would be this way. I would have put the fireplace on but it was 102 that day and at night was 93…😅 so yeah😒

This has got to be one of my most favorite Halloween displays I’ve ever done!! This is such a fun creative time of year!

To the east of us there’s a huge fire, praying for all that are in danger😢

Staying inside since the air quality here is trash and I’m still trying to get over this bug I have! It’s been almost a full week, I’m hoping this week is better!

But on a positive note: Sunday Football is here! And we’re gonna relax and watch the games today!

Going back to last years decor is always fun to see where it was and what the possibilities are this year! My plan is to go simple, but of course candles and lighting always set the mood!

The biggest change in here are the floors from , a new coffee table and rug! Always a new rug!

But I am!! ☺️The holiday season is when I can get really creative and right now I’m in my element! 😌Im hoping it transports you to a mysterious and magical place like it does me, but in a comforting way! 🤗🧣

Hi everyone!! How is it the last Monday in April!!!! Dang time flies!

I did some minimal restyling a few spaces this weekend! And Trader Joe’s flowers for the win-of course I’m gravitating towards orange!! 🧡🧡

A recap of stills of our 2024 home updates and projects so far in the first quarter!

•Built a banquette for our daughters home (actually this was in December)
•New flooring installed (we hired out for that project)
•Took out the old pony wall
•installed our own baseboards on the entire first floor(saved some $$)
•Demo’d our old guest bath vanity for a new one and installed herringbone tile
•Painted our old hallway builder grade door and gave it some new life with picture frame molding giving it new life again
•Backyard patio refresh
•Wallpapered baby’s nursery

WHEW!!

I know that sounds like a lot and it is, but we like being productive 😆 It’s like who we are! We started DIYing our first home in 1987, and really never stopped trying to improve each home we’ve had. Now this home is our forever one and being empty nesters, it gets all the love!

These are just some of the goals we set for 2024. Lord willing we will be able to accomplish more since the list is still not completed!

Every New Years Eve it feels a little melancholy for me. It’s always a mixed bag of emotions with leaving the year behind, maybe you feel like that too. This might sound cliche, but one thing I’ve learned this year is life just goes by waaaayyyyy too fast! I’ll be 60 this coming year and that’s just really crazy to even say that out loud. We’ve had a lot to be thankful for this year and we give all the praise to God for that. I’m always looking for ways to use what I have on hand to create something new! I was looking for a smaller sized wreath to put on my back door and also above my stove! I can never find the right size online so I just make it! Using a garland from Hobby Lobby which I had along with the little mini wreath, I created a simple piece of decor for literally nothing! Added a cute ribbon on it after securing it with floral wire and it’s good to go!
