I will not be active in the buy, sell or trade aspects of my collection until early 2024, due to right shoulder surgery on Oct 31 and subsequent immobilization of my arm.

So what is happening with Brian's jewelry venture Rocks Redux?

It definitely exists, but strategic and contingency planning (the way my brain works) requires a time out. I'm on the injured reserve list and unavailable to play for this jewelry season (now til March). Significant injuries to my right shoulder are taking that arm and hand out of action. Just texting this hurts, a lot. Surgical overhaul is scheduled for October 13 (postponed to Oct 31 due to clerical error) with an eight-month recovery. It will be about a year before normal function.

Before this time next year, I will be ready to keyboard like a madman and to handle logistics and shipping functions. In the meantime I have no active listings on sales apps, in order to avoid those activities.But my mind will be busy in fun research, knowledge acquisition and occasional investment.

A change of FB algorithm focus from people and pages to groups in newsfeed and the subsequent end of Heart Soul Mind as a nonprofit organization leaves me with a page to change for other purposes. However, I do plan to leave the old content available for links previously shared.

I buy, sell and trade in recovering jewelry via auctions from consignments, estate sales, estate disputes, divorce disputes, court seizures, unclaimed storage, business closures and clearances. Most of what I acquire is Brand New Old Stock and will be presented as new. If it is not, I will identify it as used or previously owned. I do not buy wholesale, and I do not sell resale.

If an object is twenty or more years old, I will identify it as vintage. If more than one-hundred years old, as antique.

As an observer of world events and geopolitics, I'm not concerned about any potential US conflict with China, which cannot afford it. China's economy is about to collapse, due to corruption, without a war.

Instead, China better pray that India doesn't CRUSH them over water rights. China is withholding all the water it can, most of a major river that both counties rely upon. Numerous huge retention dams have been built in ridiculously close proximity on that river by China.

China has a water shortage. It's best potable and usable (for any purpose) water is in the south, while most of the population is in the north. Profound lack of futuristic strategic planning. Moreover, most of China's groundwater is highly toxic due to agricultural and industrial chemicals. They have managed to kill water, literally kill water, which may kill them.

India needs the natural resources that should be flowing into it's borders - just as badly as China. Not having that water means incredible suffering, agricultural failure, famine, death for India's people.

It's been a few decades, but India has proven that it is not afraid to attack or retaliate against China. And if we think wars fought over borders, mineral rights and for depraved idiot dictators are bad . . . just wait until we see a war over water.

Just a bit that has been scampering around my mind recently and wouldn't leave. Maybe now that I've jotted it down ... Nah, this one is going to keep bugging me.

Heart Soul Mind is no longer a nonprofit organization.

Meta algorithms, changed over the past year (focusing on groups instead of pages), have altered the social media landscape so much that my kind of mission outreach is no longer viable on the Facebook platform.

Of course I will continue to share the love. But I am reducing the amount of my administrative functions to three pages and two groups, archiving the rest.

In the future you may see me introduce my new adventure to supplement our retirement.

Rocks Redux is the name of my new hobby - reselling some of the jewelry (mostly fine and precious) I have been collecting via estate and civil enforcement auctions. My nerd brain now studies gemology and jewelry values for fun. I am following in the footsteps of my father who was a gemologist and watchmaker. Grace and peace,
