"[Lin] taught me a lesson in life that you've heard, but he just really brought it to life for me: Don't judge a book by its cover. He was a big guy. He wore the suspenders and the jeans and the punk rock clothing and he was pierced. But his smile and his charisma -- he just taught me you've got to get to know somebody before you judge them." - Marc Isquith, former owner of Tribal Body Piercing, where Lin "Spit" Newborn worked up until his death. A snippet from his interview for MURDERED ON THE FOURTH OF JULY, now in production.

"A little newspaper clipping caught my attention. The store owner came over to check on me. 'That’s Lin Newborn.' I listened to her recollection of Spit’s life and death, a young artist with a loud mouth against inhumane thoughts and deeds that harm others; his poetry and singing were fiery and sharp, and he was fearless. He was also only 24 when he was murdered. I counted. We were the same age." - "Murdered on the Fourth of July" co-producer Roudi Boroumand.

Murdered on the Fourth of July co-producer Roudi Boroumand shares how she learned of the story surrounding Lin Newborn's death.

"I’m making this film because someone has to. Someone has to make sense of the senseless thing that happened, put it in context, and try to find some lesson here – and maybe some semblance of closure for those who were most immediately impacted by the loss of these two young men and the violence perpetrated by white supremacists." - "Murdered on the Fourth of July" director/producer Pj Perez.

Documentary filmmaker Pj Perez shares his connection to Lin "Spit" Newborn, which fueled the idea for "Murdered on the Fourth of July,"
