First recordings with the new DPSKU1 dummy head are kinda interesting.

Looks like about a 4.5db difference between left and right.

It initially appears that it is significantly more pronounced than actual human hearing. So this at least seems like it will be an interesting method of recording stereophonic instruments.

More fun to follow later this coming week!

History of Alamance County Bands and Musicians - An update!

This is the SECOND round...
and it happened a LOT quicker than I anticipated! THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE!!

This is the list of PAST bands that I have so far... (I know it's still not complete and there are a few more ideas for things to add and augment... such as identifying the individual musicians that went on to work with national acts.)

I will post another list of currently ACTIVE/Working bands in a another post shortly... Hopefully I can get links to post to their pages... (With Facebook, you never know.)

If you can possibly update any info for these bands - such as correct spelling, years they were active (If you gave me that information, no need to update), or add old bands to the list, I would greatly appreciate it!

Whew! THAT was fun!!
It's always a good time to see musicians who don't really know each other, get together and play for the simple pleasure of making music.

There is a distinct difference between playing a song and making music. Music only occurs when you stop playing the song and let the music come to life. We call it The Muse. It's a real thing.

Was every song a Grammy Award worthy performance today? Hardly... but there are almost always moments of inspiration and a song rises above being just a song and it becomes music!

Today, many songs were played.. and several times music was made!

, the album, has fallen to #7 on the last day, but still a respectable showing considering the heavyweights on this chart. Thanks to all the radio stations worldwide that downloaded songs from the album for airplay!
