Fala Aí, the magazine of the Portuguese program at the University of Georgia, is an award-winning student-run publication about the Lusophone-world. With content that is created collaboratively among people in the Portuguese-speaking countries and the United States, our goal is to promote the Portuguese language as well as Lusophone. We also aim to contribute to L2 Portuguese students’ experience

with the language. The Brazilian expression “Fala Aí” could be freely translated into English as “speak up”. And that is exactly what we want Fala Aí magazine to be: a platform in which UGA professors, the community, and, most importantly, students can voice their ideas. Get in touch at [email protected]

Our Story

Fala Aí, the magazine of the Portuguese program at the University of Georgia, is a student-led magazine that deals with issues related to the Lusophone-world. With content that is created collaboratively among people in the countries that speak Portuguese, and the United States, the goal of this magazine is to expand on the experience that students have in the classroom. The expression Fala Aí, in Portuguese, is an informal expression that could be translated into something like 'speak up' in English. It is generally used in a friendly manner among people when they want someone else to add their contribution to the conversation. And that is exactly what we want Fala Aí to be: a 'public conversation' in which UGA professors, the community and, most importantly, our students take part.
