A few months back we were taking a still image of the ‘Port Light’ cocktail for @bourbonplus magazine and decided to get a little crazy with it while we had the drink in studio and break out our trusty Bolt Jr. Winston to shoot a fun spot. We used a snorkel lens technique and our team here all pitched in to bring the amazing set to life and make it happen. (Bonus - we used an HD tv as a ‘mini LED wall’ to project part of our background and integrated practical set extensions to make it all flow seamlessly…see if you can spot where the transition from practical to screen happens!)

We’ve always loved the magic of stop-motion here at Eleven Productions so our post team put together this spot showing some of what it takes to bring it to life. Using our Bolt Jr. cinebot we’re able to add camera movement to our animations by creating a layered pass with and without the animated elements that our post team can stack and then erase out all of the rigging used to animate. This allows us to make things move/float and act in magical ways that wouldn’t be possible in real life. Check out this stop-motion magic that we made for Boar’s Head with Publix Supermarkets a little while back. Not only was this an awesome but complex project due to the stop-motion animation, but we also integrated our Motion Control rig to create programabale stepped camera movements for some added depth and intrest to the animations.
