Since listening to DJ BORING’s earworm spawning productions and witnessing his high NRG mixes, we knew we had to ask him to compile this issue of DJ-Kicks.
“At first, I was going to do something completely different – it was just going to be dance music! But I think a lot of people like the at-home listening aspect, and that really resonated with me – it’s what I enjoy. I want people to feel that they can put the mix on at the start of their night, while they’re cooking dinner, before ramping up a bit before going out.” - DJ BORING

Five years ago to the day, Leon Vynehall released his milestone DJ-Kicks mix, contributing to the series with a richly layered affair filled with curveballs and a wealth of adventurous ideas that he pulled off with confidence and style.
Vynehall's mix, which goes from 79-169bpm in fluid fashion is distinctly diverse both in genre and tempo, working in a range of settings, as was the artist’s aim.

Very happy to present our collaboration: DJ-Kicks X Apple Music. From today a first selection of classic DJ-Kicks will be available to stream for the first time. Apple Music has endeavoured to build a system which can properly identify and directly compensate rights holders who have tracks in DJ Mixes. Additionally, Apple Music also embraces curators, recognising them as important musical cultural contributors and compensating them along with the rights holders of the music. For us at !K7 records this means that many early of the early DJ-Kicks catalogue and the most complete collection of mixes will now be available to stream on Apple Music, with the rights holders, curators and supplier all being paid.
To mark the launch Apple Music have also put together a short film 'Celebrating DJ-Kicks' featuring Jayda G, Tiga and Carl Craig.
