Haunting images show the spiralling COVID-19 situation unfolding in India which is struggling to handle its dead.
At makeshift crematoriums in New Delhi family and friends are bidding farewell to loved ones, amid a sea of countless flames.
Yesterday, India reported 354,531 infections and 2806 deaths, but experts say those numbers, however astonishing, account for only a fraction of the deaths and infections in the country.
India’s healthcare system is struggling to cope with a huge surge, with reports of severe oxygen and medicine shortages and patients’ families pleading for help on social media.
