The Original Experiment was an interactive requests show with a twist. At it's peak the show focused on playing 1 hour of the Best mash-ups from DJ's around the world, who may not necessarily have got the radio play their talent deserved. This was followed by requests and the now infamous Request Battle. In August 2013, I decided to retire the existing format, and The Experiment - Part II was conc
eived. Launching on the 21st September 2013 (subject to availability), the new show still featured the mash-ups, however, they were not lumped together in a single hour segment. There was also be a host of new features, requests and fun. The team behind the show also changed. Moderating the Chat Channel were Lady Enigma III and Jen, both of whom had become invaluable to me. I also intended to have guests join the show, hopefully including other SHR DJ's past and present. And as part of Project Sunset SkyHigh there were 27 other very special people who's story and progress were highlighted on a weekly basis. The Experiment - Part II was a complete revamp and launched a new chapter in the evolution of DJ Enigma and SkyHigh Radio's Saturday Nights. Unfortunately, work commitments made saturday nights impractical, and after a lot of careful consideration The Experiment as a whole was shelved. The Enigma Variations launched in October 2013 and marked a move to Monday Nights from 22:00. The show features a rotating monthly programme of different formats from Mixes & Mashups, to 70's and 80's, Late Night Love, and Musical Allsorts. The listeners will eventually get to vote for the next shows theme. On Friday 15th Novermber, as part of the SkyHigh Radio Children In Need Special, the shows new co-presenter DJ Jen was unleashed on an unsuspecting public, and within a matter of minutes, listener figures had doubled. Jen is now the permanent co-host and will appear as often as work allows. Enigma & Jen have known each other since 1999 and the banter can be quite cutting at times. You don't want to miss out. DJ V***n (AKA Lady Enigma III, AKA Vic), will also be featuring as and when time permits.
