As a Kapampangan who moved to the U.S. and hasn’t been home in years, I’ve been craving the distinct flavors of home, especially something as unique and comforting as p**o bumbong. Its purple, sticky, and slightly nutty texture paired with margarine, coconut, muscovado sugar, Philippine cheese, and sweetened condensed milk is truly nostalgic. It’s more than just food—it’s a holiday tradition and a reminder of Simbang Gabi in the Philippines.
Recreating p**o bumbong here can be tricky, especially without the traditional bamboo steamer, but it’s not impossible. After rounds of R&D, we’ve finally perfected our p**o bumbong! Soft, chewy, and full of that classic flavor you know and love. Each batch is freshly made with care, capturing the warmth of the holidays in every bite. It’s been a journey to get the texture, flavor, and aroma just right—and now, it’s ready to share!
