What is VoIP all about?

How did on-hold messaging actually begin?

As soon as the first phone in 1876 was patented people quickly fell in love and adapted to the new way of communication. This became the new normal in businesses and how they interacted with their customers.

Not much later the beginning of on-hold marketing was starting to unfold.

Milton H.Herzman was a business owner in retail and was quickly getting frustrated with the volume of calls he was receiving. Alas, the on-hold button was invented in 1930 when he could take no more!

Over 30 years later, by accident, it was discovered that a loose wire was touching a metal grinder. When a call was placed, the radio station next door could be heard therefore creating the first form of on-hold music.

Quickly people realized the genius of this and soon branded announcements, reminders of promotions, and business hours were being heard all around.
