Famy National Integrated High School conducted its first Work Immersion Mock Interview for Grade 12 students with the theme: "Empowering Future Professionals: A Glimpse into Real-World Work Processes”, March 13-14, 2024.

Held in the Campus I, ICT room, the program was a spearheading initiative that aims to provide students a practical understanding of the professional world.

Deworming in public schools resumes

On Monday, March 4, 2024, SDO Laguna began deworming students at Famy NIHS in order to eradicate intestinal worms, also known as soil transmitted helminths (STH), through Nurse Jerome C. Mendoza of the SDO School Health Section.

Parents supported this activity by allowing their children to get dewormed. As of now, 290 students have received deworming; 65 Grade 7, 24 Grade 8, 57 Grade 9, 80 Grade 10, 38 Grade 11 and 26 Grade 12 learners; ideally, many more will follow.

STH infections negatively impact children's health, nutrition, and education by impeding their physical and mental development.

Moreso, this can result in anemia, malnutrition, and poor physical and intellectual development in children. It impacts kids' development, well-being, and academic achievement.

Accordingly, Dr. Shierazade R. Velasco, the school health coordinator, is encouraging parents and guardians to support the campaign, as it improves their children's nutrition, improves nutrient absorption, and significantly enhances their general health and well-being. It also strengthens their child's resistance to infections and illnesses.

However, Dr. Socorro R. Fundivilla, school principal, makes sure that there won't be any disruptions to classrooms during the deworming process.
