Architect’s Sugar Architectural Visualization Award architecture competition winners revealed!

Buildner is pleased to announce the results of its first annual Architect’s Sugar Architectural Visualization Award. A new competition series that seeks outstanding visualizations that must communicate without any text or explanation. The winning designs speak for themselves.

First prize winner Adrian Vindedal from Norway submitted an illustration that captured a sense of impending climate doom. He shared a solemn but beautiful image of two buildings with strange windows and structures in an unknown location, creating a fascinating contrast between strangeness and realism.

Second prize winners Kelly Chun Wai Choi and Rebecca Andre from The University of Melbourne in Australia, submitted an amalgamation of perspectives, axonometries, elevations, plans and sections into one kaleidoscopic scroll reminiscent of Chinese multidimensional landscape scrolls. Third prize winners Xian Zhu and Xi Luo from Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in Germany, submitted an illustration created using a manual technique or generated by post-processing which generates a fantastic atmosphere.

Museum Of Emotions / Edition #2 architecture competition winners revealed!

Buildner is excited to announce the results for the second edition of its Museum of Emotions Competition, in which participants were tasked with designing a museum space that evoked both positive and negative emotions in visitors.

Our first prize and Student Award went to a team from the Faculty of Fine Arts ‎Architecture Department - Helwan University - جامعة حلوان, Egypt – Hassan Mohamed, Fayrouz Khalid, Youssef Mohamed and Marium Hesham. Their proposal was a design that sliced through a mountain to offer a tunnel-like sequence of spaces; geometrically complex yet rendered simple through the project’s clear sections.

Second prize was awarded to Je Yen Tan from Australia, who proposed a monolithic black form which was dark within and punctured, split or broken at various points to let in light. Third prize winner James Li, also from Australia, also takes home our Sustainability award. He proposed a monument organized as a circular grassy mound within an existing organic forest.
