SCAM ALERT - Authors, PLEASE read!!

There is a scam going around that exists in a few iterations but it recently has hit the witch author community.

*What does it look like:* You may get an email (or job offer) from a very well-known popular and famous podcast. They want you on their show (or to hire you) and they want to pay you good money! It's exciting, they love your work, they want you on (or onboard.)

*What happens next:* They will set up an interview with you, and throughout the process there will be a "technical difficulty" and they will then ask to share screens. (What they are really doing is trying to gain entrance into your devices)

*What do they get out of it:* To gain control of your logins, social media accounts, etc.

*Where did I hear this?* First I heard a "job" version of this on Crime Junkies podcast, then today a witch author friend of mine told me this happened to her days ago as they were trying to have her on the "show" for an interview.

Someone within our community, who has been a supporter of many witch creators, including myself for almost 10 years reached out to me because they are going through a crisis. Job loss has plunged this family into a sudden and scary situation that is all to real and looming for many in this economy. She had purchased our classes, books, services. She has shared our posts, blogs, and work for many many years. Now she is in a position where credit cards are maxed and rent is due.​

100 issues. 100 months. 8 years of Witch Way Magazine. I went in not having a clue of what this random project would bring. I thought I’d do one issue for fun and jump to something else. Instead I found a world I could have never expected. A family, validation, support, and appreciation. I also found hatred, contempt, and situations I was unprepared for. I had to grow from a college student to a ceo overnight. Bumpy doesn’t cover it. Most importantly, I have found not only people I consider soulmates and life long friends, but I have found myself. I am so grateful I didn’t have to spend a large part of my life feeling lost about who I was and I give credit to Witch Way. If this all ends tomorrow, if I have to go back to beige, I will have considered this an extraordinary and fulfilling life.
