Tonight is the night! Glory To Glory!
Organist Dominique Johnson is set to anoint Architect Frank Gehry’s and Walt Disney Hall’s 6,134-pipe organ.
Completed in 2004, Rosales would “voice”and tune the organ and the process required absolute silence in the Hall, meaning that no music could take place during tuning. Rosales would often place a weight on a single key to test the note and then walk around the Hall listening from various seats. Judging one note could take up to 30 minutes.
