It's February, so with Valentine's Day approaching, find something for that special someone in your life whether it's your spouse, gf/bf or f**k bot...I mean emotional support robot. Anyways, let's talk about it:

Companion is a movie directed by Drew Hancock, and it's produced by the director of Barbarian which was a surprise hit from 2022. The movie stars Sophie Thatcher & Jack Quaid where they play a couple that goes to a remote house in the woods to meet up with friends where madness ensues. Let me say this first: DO NOT WATCH THE 2ND TRAILER FOR THIS FILM. They give away the plot twist and the poster blatantly gives everything away. Go on to this with a clear mind. Trust me.

Is this a horror movie? Not really. It's a movie about A.I, with dark comedy. The comedy I really like because it's not hamfisted in. It also helps that you have Jack Quaid (The Boys) Harvey Guillén (What we do in the Shadows) & Lukas Gage who all have great comedic timing. Sophie Thatcher does such a great job at switching from "Normal loving girlfriend" to "Murderous robot girlfriend" I thought she was great in Heretic. She has this down to earth quality about her. Jack Quaid is usually good in everything he does. He can play charming, likable and flip to do*****ag boyfriend in a heartbeat.

I think what this movie is best at is building tension. If you didn't see any trailers, then the first half just seems like a rom com, then out of nowhere becomes a murder mystery, then a Sci Fi thriller. The way the movie ends I thought was perfect for the story. Overall, I had fun with this one. It's refreshing that a movie in January didn't completely suck. It's 97 minutes and I think it could've been at least 5-7 minutes longer. There's some stuff that happens at the end that made me jump out of my seat and go "WHOA! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" which I'm guessing was the point from the director was to leave you in suspense and wanting more.

This gets a Solid B Plus.

Just like last year, Punk and Cody set up the Rumble and possibly WrestleMania. Punk is worried about Cody's psyche as of late and Cody seems passive aggressive about it.

I wouldn't mind Cody vs Punk as the main event. Maybe a Heel Cody could happen? Who knows? I can't wait for this Saturday!
