Australia vs Bangladesh
Post-match presentation chat with Australia's newest No. 3 T20I batter, Georgia Wareham, who has carried her batting form from the WBBL and WPL to international cricket. (Made good use of her primary skill, legspin bowling, too.)
Mentions batting higher up the #RCB order last month gave her confidence coming into the #BANvAUS series.

Had the honour of moderating the fireside chat with the sharp, fun and forthright Smriti Mandhana, the vice-captain of the Indian women's cricket team and captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, at the Outlookindia Business Spotlight Visionary Leader Awards 2023 in Pune, where she was the recipient of the âOutlook Award for Excellence in Sports'.
Smriti and I discussed everything from what it means to be a woman in the business of Indian sports and sports media right now, money matters in womenâs cricket, pay parity, India Womenâs growing profile, role models in the current team, representation of women on boards of companies in India and leadership positions in other professions such as sports, the importance of failure, India surpassing China last month as the most populous country in the world (but the participation of women in the Indian workforce constantly being on the wane), the WPL making a splash in its maiden season, all things Serena Williams and Serena Ventures (yeah, both of us fan-girled about an icon), female entrepreneurs and more.
Thanks to a receptive audience comprising some of the whoâs who of the business world in Asia, who made the 30-minute chat a fun, engaging two-way experience.
Thank you for having me, Outlook Business.

'The girl who took women's cricket to the next level', a longread on Harmanpreet Kaur was a labour of love for ESPNcricinfo that has gone places since it was published in 2018. Now, it has landed in the The New York Times (NYT) courtesy of NYT South Asia Bureau Chief Mujib Mashal's feature on the inaugural Women's Premier League (#WPL), the journey of Indian women's cricket and the impact of Harmanpreet, the captain of the Indian women's cricket team.
Mujib and his colleague, renowned photojournalist Atul Loke, made several trips to Punjab to put their feature, "In an Indian Village, Cultivating Girls' Big-League Dreams," together. They also spoke to Harmanpreet for this story. The storytellers were in attendance at the inaugural #WPL in March in Mumbai, too, including at Harmanpreet's first-ever pre-tournament WPL presser as the #MumbaiIndians captain. The link to Mujib's NYT piece is on my Instagram Story and Twitter. Do read it, for it's their labour of love and a cracking piece of journalism on the women's game in India.
This vertical video is courtesy of presenter Supriya Singh, who, during our short break at work in Mumbai during today's match at the #IPL, got so excited about the development that she made an Instagram story about it. :) Supriya was one of the presenters at the #WPL; she said Mujib's story and the carefully placed hyperlink to my story (on Harmanpreet's name) warranted celebration of some kind. The celebration led to this Reel, shot on her #Iphone, at one of the oldest studios in Asia that has helped craft many a timeless story in Indian cinema.
Also, thanks to my former ESPNcricinfo editor Leslie Matthew for letting me bring the Harmanpreet Kaur story to life. Grateful forever.

Pretty big turnout at the MCA Stadium on the outskirts of Pune for the 2022 Women's T20 Challenge final between Harmanpreet Kaur's Supernovas and Deepti Sharma's Velocity.
Remember witnessing similar scenes at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium in 2019.
The only major difference is this is the FIRST TICKETED EDITION of the #WT20C. So, yep, it is a big deal for the three-team, four-match tournament.
Edit: Official count of ticketed spectators at 8:45pm: 8104, the highest yet for a 2022 Women's T20 Challenge match.
