Biography
Kevin was born in Northampton & lived there until the age of 25, when after a period of travel, he moved to Leeds where he’s been for nearly 15 years now. After first settling in Leeds in 1998, Kevin pursued his dream to be a film-maker. He studied film for eighteen months, then spent some years working on various projects, but through a combination of laziness, lack of talent and bad lu
ck, he came out of this period with very little to show for it. And suddenly finding himself with no money, he embarked on a string of awful jobs, until buying a DVD rental shop in 2005. This was good, for a while and the shop was well-loved, but with the industry in decline, Kevin was forced to close in 2008. Kevin has moved around a fair bit in his life, having lived in around 30 houses & flats in his 39 years of life so far. And he’s had a fair few different jobs too. Variety definitely seems to be the spice of life for Kevin, in more ways than one. The one constant throughout all of this has been a life-long love of music, from discovering The Beatles as a young child, through punk and hip-hop in his teenage years, electronic and dance music in his 20’s and finally into the diverse tapestry that constitutes his current taste. In 2011, Kevin decided that it was about time he shared his knowledge and passion for music with others and set about creating this radio show, which first went out on South Leeds Community Radio in January 2012. The show got its own website in summer of 2012 and in January 2013, Kevin started doing two shows a week.
