Meet Vass Nikoloff ✨
Born and raised in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Vass Nikoloff discovered his passion for electronic music at the iconic Plazma Club. It was in this vibrant venue, surrounded by the energy of the crowd and the pulse of the beats, that his love for the music scene truly ignited. To this day, Plazma Club remains a significant place for him, as it’s where his musical journey first blossomed.
Embracing a diverse range of styles such as minimal deep tech, hypnotic groove, and hard industrial techno, Vass designs his sets to lead listeners on a profound and immersive musical journey. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Andre Gazolla, Pacho & Pepo, Metodi Hristov, Pavel Petrov, DJ Dextro and Kameliia he meticulously blends tracks, harnessing the power of the bass and rhythm to create suspenseful moments that build up to a powerful crescendo, leaving a lasting impact on his audience.
Introduced to electronic music at the early age of five through his father’s Jean-Michel Jarre cassettes, Vass was breakdancing to the sounds of old-school legends like Bomfunk MCs, Flying Steps, Westbam, and Carl Cox by the age of nine. After a football injury in 2009 ended his career as a goalkeeper, he fully immersed himself in the local dance music scene, frequenting premier clubs like Dance Club Mania and Cacao Beach in Sunny Beach and of course, Plazma in Plovdiv.
In 2017, while living in Trondheim, Norway, Vass began mixing on his first-ever setup, consisting of CDJ 100s and a DJM 300 mixer. It was there that he founded Northern Impact, which became his platform for promoting events and new talent. After moving to London in 2018, Vass continued to dedicate himself to the dance music community, organizing events and playing at renowned clubs such as Egg London, E1, and Werkhaus.
Since 2019, Vass Nikoloff has had the honour of performing alongside his musical idols and has expanded Northern Impact into a thriving organization, managing a team of over 20 people. His passion for music and commitment to the scene is evident in every set he performs, making meaningful contributions to the dance music community in London.
