The Great Re-Miracling is now complete! Thanks again for your patience!
This is a heads up that this weekend, we're going to begin putting out the re-miracled episodes! These will replace the old versions, so it shouldn't be disruptive, but if anything goes wonky in our feed over the next week, please let us know!
I also want to thank EVERYONE who participated in the Great Re-Miracling! You, and our wonderful editor Popeular History, have made what could have been a painful process, liberating instead.
And, if you're worried you missed the boat, we will continue to accept new soundbytes ongoing, at our podcast email: [email protected]
NEW EPISODE: We're wrapping up our half way retrospective with a look at the periodization of the papacy!
As we wrap up our retrospective on the first half of Pontifacts, join us as we discuss the periodization of the papacy. Witness how the pope went from insignificant cult leader to supreme temporal and spiritual authority over a thousand years of ups and downs!
In Hawaii, Fry and I sought out the most cursed caricaturists who famously roast the hell out of people.
Behold, what we looked like standing in line, and the art, which we'll be submitting as our headshot for future conferences 😂
Can you believe we've reached the HALFWAY point?!
Join us as we look back on our top scorers, and why they did so well!

We've just finished recording, and we've had a bit of a crazy idea.
I have just introduced Fry to Pope Donus II, the pope who never existed. He was recorded in several sources as an error, following pope Benedict VI, reigning for "a year and a half" before Pope Benedict VII.
HOWEVER, Fake Pope Donus II does have a portrait in St Paul's Outside the Walls! And as a result, we've decided he needs a rating, and we'd like to invite you all to have a little fun with it.
So we're putting out a call for... ridiculous papal fanfiction! Anyone who wants to write a bio for this fake pope can submit it, and we will read it out, as well as how he would score!

Following our announcement of the Great Re-Miracling, we have ANOTHER announcement: This Easter, we will finally be releasing the LOST EASTER SPECIAL!! 🐇🐣
You are not prepared.
We are undertaking a new project over at the Pontifacts Conclave, and we are requesting your help. This project, which we’re going to call “The Great Re-Miracling”, is our effort to go through all our currently released episodes and remove the "Miracles" sound effect (Voiced by Fry's ex-husband) and replace them with new ones – for very obvious reasons.
But you see, we’ve put out a lot of episodes! And while I can start to narrow down which episodes we’ll hear a miracle in, we don’t have any time stamps for where these appear in said episodes at the moment. So we are asking, if you are interested and able, or happen to be doing a relisten, to help us catch the timestamp location of the “miracles”, and send them our way.
Here is a form where you can submit them! https://tinyurl.com/Pontifactsmiracles
Additionally, to make the re-miracling extra fun, we’ve put a call out to all our podcasting friends, who will be recording new soundbytes for us! I’d love to have a good variety, so I will also extend the call to you, our listeners. Ideally, we’re looking for male voices, and if you're willing to help us out, please record yourself saying "Miracles" in your best NPR/holy voice (or you could give us a different take of your own) and email it to [email protected] with subject "miracles"
Thank you!
Help us take the audio trash out, and make this podcast miraculous again!
Introducing Pope John XII, one of the worst popes in history!
https://pontifacts.podbean.com/e/132-john-xii/
Are you ready for one of the worst popes in history!?
You better be, because his episode comes out tomorrow!
WE'RE BACK!!
Introducing Agapetus II:
https://pontifacts.podbean.com/e/131agapetus-ii/
Thank you all for your patience and support, particularly for Fry- it's meant a great deal to us!🧡
Agapetus the sanctissimus came to the papacy during the Italian hurly-burly, and there was plenty to contend with. In his episode, we discuss the arrival of the otters and badass medieval women, and Fry gets frazzled about technological Scandinavian kings.
For reasons that will make sense later, it might be possible that I will finish writing 6 entire Pontifacts episodes this week. 🤯 IFYKYK

This post is to announce the unfortunate but important news that Pontifacts has to go on hiatus, starting now through February.
This is so Fry can finalize her divorce, move, and get settled. Some of you have already guessed, yes, this was at the heart of our unexpected and long-term hiatus last year. The situation Fry is leaving has been *of concern* and continues to pose many obstacles, so it is of the utmost importance to me to support her unconditionally.
But never fear!! Fortunately this time our hiatus will not be indefinite! We can confidently say that we will be returning with a release (and a backlog) on March 4th! Recording will become a much easier process when Fry is in a good and safe place.
Thank you for your understanding, we will see you in March!
