Recently, I was privileged to attend a town meeting at State Correctional Institution (SCI) Coal Township. The meeting was run by inmates--members of TriumpH and LifeLine, two social service organizations at the prison, and convened by Cassandra Catino, of Mount Carmel, the meeting was a first step in identifying and addressing the most pressing needs of our communities.

Members of 11 nonprofit organizations met with inmates from SCI Coal Township to determine the biggest challenges facing nearby communities and determine how to address them.
