Mindbender at the West Edmonton Mall has closed for good after 37 years.

The Mindbender roller coaster at Galaxyland has been shut down, West Edmonton Mall announced on Monday. The redevelopment of the area is already underway, and the roller coaster is being decommissioned and removed.

Sad news out of Lubbock, Texas. This small family-run amusement park had a nice collection of rides, including some classics. A few years ago, it sold its rare Allan Herschell wild mouse to Arnolds Park in Iowa. The fate of the remaining rides is unknown.

Three people were shot Saturday night at Kennywood, police said. Saturday was the opening of the park's Halloween event, Phantom Fall Fest. The park was scheduled to open Sunday, but the park now says it will reopen Sept. 30.

Kings Island and its parent company Cedar Fair Parks was served with a lawsuit that a patron suffered a stroke after riding Adventure Express. The lawsuit complaint stated that Cedar Fair knowingly operated the ride that was incredibly jarring inducing injury. You can read the court papers at the link below:

A water park and hotel are planned for the former Six Flags New Orleans after Drew Brees' group withdrew its bid for the site.

Six Flags New Orleans, formerly Jazzland, closed in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina and has been standing but not operating since.

The former Saints quarterback's group will be given a chance to develop its project on another site or sites in New Orleans East.
