Between You And Me returns with an absolute banger "Nevermind".

Since moving on from Hopeless Records (for reasons we won't mention) and becoming an independent band, a lot of people were wondering what was next? We can't imagine the stress this would create in not having the "support" one would expect from a label (marketing, financial services etc) especially in today's world, but, in regards to having complete power over everything you create, that's got to be nothing short of relieving. It's safe to say, BYAM hasn't let this stop them and they've come back harder than ever.

"Nevermind", their first release independently, hits hard. Jake's vocals, harmonies and melodies are incredibly vibrant throughout the whole track. Instrumentally, starting off acoustically, before heading into a monstrous chorus. The whole track reminds me of a time I can't seem to pinpoint, 90's pop punk/2000's/All American Rejects-vibes or some s**t like that.

This is a great track, especially to kick off the hype for a potential album later on. They've outdone themselves again and I thought that would be pretty tough with their previous singles which I STILL haven't stopped listening to quite often.

"Nevermind" is out on all streaming platforms with an official music video to be released worldwide today.

UNIFY Gathering has unveiled the "Off The Record" 2023 tour.

UNIFY Gathering has been met with very mixed reactions to a new format for the festival. Missing out on a 2023 gathering, we have FIVE different shows around Queensland, NSW, SA, VIC & Tasmania. Including some of the scenes biggest Australian bands.

What are your thoughts on this? Is there some potential for this to be the new thing? Or are you hoping for a one off and back to the normal - camping, one location, road trips etc?

Scene Queen has dropped her most controversial track yet.

Calling out sexual misconduct/abuse amongst the scene. Listeners have a fair idea of who this may be about 👀

For those who don't know, SQ mixes bubblegum pop music with almost djent-y, metalcore/deathcore and goddamn it, it kinda works.

The arrangement of her music is thought out really well and she does well to make it catchy enough to get stuck in your head. With crowd chants and word play, you'll unconciously find yourself bobbing along to this.

Look, it's a decent song. It's bringing light to a very serious topic that's still heavily relevant. This track SEEMS to nail down on a particular band but also doesn't (if that makes sense?). The lyrics don't really NEED to be anything smart or well thought out when it comes to thos type of song, legally, I'm more than certain you would have to work around saying this and that to be safe. But they work, the get a message across.

In the end, SQ is saying everything that we've been thinking and have been wanting to say. She's being a voice and you can't help but be in awe.

Brb chanting "18+" over and over again this morning.

Trophy Eyes are back with an incredibly groovy new track called "Blue Eyed Boy".

To start off, I'm incredibly biased towards the band (they're the band my partner and I got engaged to). But I'll try and be as unbiased as I can. The guys have had a little while of silence over the last couple years, sprinkling some singles every once in a while. But this comes as the first taste of their upcoming album, hopefully aiming for release this year(?)

With a few line-up changes over the years, it's always hard to gauge what's going to happen and how that will influence new music from now, with vocalist John and bassist Jeremy being the only remaining original members left.

But this track absolutely brings back that iconic Trophy Eyes sound, singing/screaming vocals, a catchy chorus and stellar performance, this gives their sophomore release"Chemical Miracle" a run for its money, and that's a hard thing to say.

Speaking about topics that hopefully very few of us should ever deal with, having a best friend come back into your life and slowly falling away, back to bad habits. "Blue Eyed Boy's" lyrics hit you as you read along, possibly relating to a moment in time where you've experienced the same thing.

Really, my only criticism about this track is not hearing the chorus at least one more time, it's so easy to bop your head to and be instantly put in a good mood until the lyrics make you want to cry, it's over before I was even close to wanting the song to end. With pop punk elements mixed in with something similar to synth pop, this is a totally energetic and danceable track.

TE's 2018 album, "The American Dream" saw the band depart from their sound from "Chemical Miracle", and try new things which, for me, didn't land. I definitely enjoyed a song here and there but overall it really wasn't for me.

Since then, the singles they've put out, "Figure Eight", "27 Club", "Bittersweet", made me fall in love all over again with the band. These have been on repeat constantly.

I am VERY excited to hear what's in store for the guys, I'm ready to see them smash it, again and again.

After a long hiatus, we're back. Kicking off 2023 with our first post, and it's huge.

Long Beach, California Heavyweights, Avenged Sevenfold have returned after many, MANY years with their monstrous new track - "Nobody" off of their upcoming album, "Life Is But A Dream" which is due for release June 2.

Coming in at just under 6 minutes in length, this track takes the A7X guys on a total musical swerve and into another direction from their previous releases, yet somewhat familiar to their 2016 release "The Stage". With an almost electrifying or jolting introduction by what I can only assume is a guitar or a deeply produced synth, the listener is straight away caught off guard, wondering what comes next. What comes next is a driving beat from drummer Brooks Wackerman, accompanied by M Shadows' unique vocals.

As we move on, at times the structure of the song CAN be a little disorienting, as someone who is used to pretty basic song structures, I found myself trying to figure out what the hell was going on.

This tracks almost repeats all over again with slight variations, which I'm not mad about, I'm not all for it but it doesn't ruin the song.

We are then thrown into a bridge that feels almost empty, very eerie for a moment until we are graced by Synyster Gates' always spectacular guitar work with a riveting guitar solo. We've heard all about how classical and jazz music has influenced a large majority of his life and that's very apparent in this solo.

Overall, the vocals will be something I will be needing to get used to again, I had the same thing with "The Stage" just because it WAS so different from absolutely everything they've done in the past, and in the 6/7 year gap we have had between releases, that allowed a LOT of time to go back and revisit all their previous works and get used to THAT sound all over again. Nonetheless, Matt's vocals absolutely strike a chord with me whenever I hear his voice and my god am I happy to hear him again. The band itself is always incredible, Johnny's bass work on this track is fantastic, dark & heavy. Zacky's rhythm work is on point as always.

I can never fault these guys for trying new things. I've been a fan since I heard "Beast and the Harlot" on Guitar Hero 2 back in whenever the f**k that was. They always manage to blow my mind with what can be done with music.

Although I will need to keep the track on repeat to get a full grasp on my thoughts. I am absolutely excited for this new era and album.

Fingers crossed the guys come down under in support of this album too!
